Hello there, first time poster and Beatles nut here. I recently had the honour of interviewing Greg Saunier from the band Deerhoof – he drummed for Plastic Ono Band in Iceland last month and we ended up speaking quite a bit about his experiences of that, including Yoko telling him he's a better drummer than Ringo…

Hope you don't mind me posting this here and that I'm not treading on anyone's toes by starting a new topic.

All the best,

Jonny

Welcome :)   Thanks for sending the link to your interview with Greg Saunier.  I think Yoko made the Ringo comparison to put  him at ease or maybe she was dissappointed that Mr. Starkey couldn't make the gig.  Sean sounds just like his dad giving Yoko advice before hand. apple01

Every time Yoko opens her mouth she says something that irritates me.

"Well, probably we'll sell less records, less people'll go to see the film, we'll write less songs, and we'll all die of failure" (John Lennon 8/64)

Hey Jonny. Thanks for sharing the link – it's a really interesting interview. Greg Saunier sounds like a really nice chap. I've heard a lot of good things about Deerhoof but have never knowingly heard them. Might have to rectify that.

And welcome to the forum! Of course you're not treading on anyone's toes – we love The Beatles and Beatles-related news here.

Please don't spoil my day; I'm miles away
