John being shot before recording for Rubber Soul began would have been utterly dreadful, not that him being shot in 1980 wasn't of course. All the music we'd have missed out on, and not just stuff he directly contributed to...

I reckon we'd have got a couple more Double Fantasy/Milk And Honey albums, a few dreadful ones in the 80s (because everything was dreadful in the 80s), and then largely inconsistent music up until now. I'm not sure if Anthology would have happened, or ...

I often think what it would´ve been like had John been alive and involved (we don´t actually know he would have wanted to do it), I wonder if it would have been better, more happy, in general. I don´t know about anyone else but I detect this air of sadness when I watch Anthology, although it´s probably just in my head.

That is so true. The whole thing leans to the bitter side of sweet. There's a sense you get in most events, even tragedies, that they're "supposed" to happen somehow. But with Lennon... that was not supposed to ...

At one point he says something along the lines of: "I'm regularly asked if John would have used Autotune. The answer is yes, once, then never again. He was always interested in trying out new things but hated repeating himself."
