As always when randomly picking up a book I checked for the individual Beatles and there were a handful of John Lennon quotes. All were well known except this great line in regards to Yoko
“It’s just handy to fuck your best friend.”
I wonder how that sits with the McLennon believers.

Offline Not sure where else to put this, but for Christmas I got the John Lennon Legend DVD. I enjoyed it, haven’t watched the extras yet. It does merit the criticism against it that it was “Yoko-ized.” She definitely did some revising to suit her needs. I’m glad I have my bootleg of the original John Lennon Video Collection.

I have that DVD too, but I haven’t watched it in a long time (Admittedly, I don’t know where it is right now). How so do you mean when you say “Yoko-ized?”

Offline For instance when it shows her saying “John” in # 9 Dream when it is May that said it. Stand By Me also includes lots of footage of Yoko even though it is a Lost Weekend track. There are other instances but those stand out in my mind. She made entirely new videos for a lot of the songs that already had videos.

Online I remember watching the ‘Legend’ DVD when it came out and being so disappointed that so many videos were newly created instead of being the originals. The video collection is so much better. The new ‘(Just Like) Starting Over’ was very similar to ‘Free As A Bird ‘ and even some of ‘Real Love ‘; the glasses falling and smashing is a strong reminder of what happened to John.

Online Its a great listen isn’t it @Beatlebug? Hearing John do all the adverts differently in daft voices and talking to callers is a true delight. Another talent the man had was being a DJ.

Offline Even though John is my third favorite Beatle and sometimes even my fourth favorite Beatle but actually maybe he just is my fourth favorite Beatle, I think he was a pretty cool dude.
