Just in those songs alone there is a joy and a hope of what was to come and where John was and its very difficult for me to bring it all together so the interviews John gave make it so much harder. Nobody Told Me, Im Losing You, Watching The Wheels, Beautiful Boy (Darling Boy), Borrowed Time, Im Stepping Out, I Dont Wanna Face It, Just Like (Starting Over) are such a great tracks but tinged with a lot of what could have ...

Welcome back.

Listened to the Lennon Box Set over the weekend. The more I hear "Out Of The Blue", the more I love it. Without getting too sappy, lines like "I was born just to get to you" make me think of my own relationship with Zag. Another one is Macca's "Calico Skies" when he sings "It was written that I would love you from the moment I opened my eyes".

Those songs tug at the ol' ticker every time.

And how about #9 Dream from Walls & Bridges - such a superb song and the production quality is superb. That initial guitar sound which opens the track with those strings makes for a sublime song. John was a brilliant producer as well as a genius songwriter.
I also love the original demos' of Free as a Bird, Real Love and especially Now & Then. All beautiful, intimate songs with just John & piano and they stand on their own - first ...

I really like Cold Turkey, as it counts as one of the few proper "songs" that John did while still technically a Beatle. Very intense stuff, too.

Hey, I was going to say Cold Turkey, too, but the timing of it didn't occur to me until you mentioned it, which is extra-cool!

I imagine Paul singing backup on that chorus part, or a 'lost' track from The White Album.

Technically, it's an amazing production, but "intense" is a perfect description.
