I was just wondering, am I the only one who finds it hard to distinguish Elton John's and John's vocals in this song? Everytime I hear it I try to pick out who is who, but for some reason I find it really difficult a-hard-days-night-ringo-14

Does anyone else have this problem? Or should I go get my hearing checked? a-hard-days-night-george-6

thanks apple01

It's a pretty similar harmony but I can separate the vocals. You do need to know some Elton John to distinguish.

I think Elton's voice is in the back. I always thought it was just some back singer to emphasize Lennon's voicea-hard-days-night-john-5 I like Elton in his early career but can't stand his later songs

Not realy tried to tell who is who vocal-wise. Im not a big fan of Johns middle period but i heard this again recently and it sounded a lot better than i remembered it.

And yes Elton John started out good but like most singers his later period is not something i have any desire to seek out. For me only I Want Love and This Train Dont Stop Here are any good.

Thanks everyone, I guess I'll just have to become more familliar with Elton's voice.

What would you think some of his best songs or albums would be?

Mostly, I'm just curious. A lot of times I want to know if a topic has been discussed before on the forum so I search for it.

Searching and curosity.

Pretty sure Elton is singing the harmony (the oh no's give it away), Elton could sing those kinds of high notes pretty effortlessly in the 70's. He had a reputation as a one-take artist, with the odd drop-in here and there because he hated hanging around studios.

Pretty much my thoughts - one of my least favourite JL tracks - good thing I didn't pick the singles seeing as this did really well.
