For the kinked-up browser, clear today’s cache/memory, log off, and close the browser. Reopen later and log in. It may take a while before you see that you are logged in on that thread (in the kinked-up browser).

Offline Just to let y’all know, I think my problems were a combination of 1) forgetting my password; 2) the math question; 3) browser abuse. I’m actually here on firefox on my laptop right now, which hasn’t happened in months.
As far as vulnerability, I agree with your comments. As I’m understanding it the math question is a wordpress thing, so it should be their responsibility to fix the bug. In the meantime I agree disabling it is probably best and worth the risk.

You may have noticed the site was offline for a bit earlier today (around 10am UK time). This was due to server patches and a reboot initiated by my hosts, and was unavoidable.
There’s going to be a bit more downtime later today, probably 20-30 minutes if all goes well. This is to change the database software to a different system (MySQL to MariaDB, for those who know about these things). My hosts (WiredTree) are really good so we’re in safe hands (he said, fingers crossed).
Update: this is done now. I think there were only about 10 minutes of downtime.

There doesn’t seem to be any forum line separators. It’s like all the post boxes left in protest or something.

Yes, I just logged on, and the site seems to have no separators. Thank god I’m not the only person seeing this!

Offline @Joe, i’m missing the two drop-down menu bars which allow easy navigate to the unread/new posts and each sub-forum. I’m on a laptop, windows 7 and chrome.
Em, I also cannot upload attachments as the buttons to do so aren’t there. I would post images of the empty spaces where they should be but cant because the buttons to upload attachments are gone.

Offline OK, thanks for the detailed info.
Sorry everyone, it might take a while to fix. My hosting company has been making some changes to the server software. The first effort broke all the maps used in articles, and probably these parts of the forum too.
We’re trying a different option, but there will be a bit of downtime in the next half hour when the server changes are reversed. Shouldn’t take long to reboot the server, but if you’re in the middle of typing a post it might be worth copying it to your clipboard before submitting it.
When the reboot is over we’re going to try something else which may or may not leave the same or other things broken. Please bear with me!
