stay-on-topic

I had a message saying one of my posts had been moved to a different part of the forum (it hadn't). I'm not sure why things are going wonky, but hopefully it'll right itself in time.

Please don't spoil my day; I'm miles away

Last night I clicked again on all my PM threads that had hang-ups. It seemed to have cleared them whereas refresing hadn't cleared them. I double checked them just now, and they all seem to still be cleared. Just thought  I'd let other folks know so they might try doing the same if they have been having PM sticking woes also.

EDIT: Just FYI, I'm still only seeing one side (wetsroosa's posts) in those PM threads.

EDIT 2: The previous hang-ups still seem to be fixed, but I have a new one. Faceo, let's see how long you'll be my #1.

Seems everytime I click out of a thread or get back to the forum's home page, I have to refresh everytime just to get the updates/new posts shown.

Cntl + F5 is now not refreshing the cache on "x topics with unread posts", remains with old posts for an age. PM notifications are more responsive tho.

Would be nice if both worked properly instead of interchanging haphazardly.

My new avatar keeps disappearing and I get the backwards George head..  paul-mccartney

"Please don't bring your banjo back, I know where it's been..  I wasn't hardly gone a day, when it became the scene..  Banjos!  Banjos!  All the time, I can't forget that tune..  and if I ever see another banjo, I'm going out and buy a big balloon!"

That's pretty cool and weird at the same time. You can see it on the 'I'm in love with a friend of mine' thread but not here. Paul with the cool hat on sitting down next to John.

Wait its here now. Spooky!

Is anyone else having trouble with PMs? Over the past week or so I've sent a couple of PMs that look like they haven't been seen, including "test" PMs. Either my PMs are on the blink or everyone's ignoring me :/
Also when I reply to an old PM topic it doesn't shoot up to the top of the list like it used to, it just stays at its current position (third, fourth etc.)
So yeah if anyone is wondering why I didn't PM them back- I did :)

Yeah, I've had some PM's not go, too. So, you're not the only one having problems with it :)

I think its happening to everyone and has been for a while. The inbox notification is totally knackered for me, showing numbers that have no resemblance to reality.

Yip.

Play the game, fight the fight of broken PM's, but what's the point on a brilliant forum.

So when you play the game of PM's you either get them sent or you don't. There is no middle ground

What would the middle ground be? Either they go or they don't, surely?

Do we need to make one long running "Did you get my PM?" thread that people can post to to ask if people got their PMs? I know how my heart skips a beat if I think a well-worded, heart-felt PM reply didn't go through. I'm like you ASJ, I'm afraid they think I didn't care to respond, or, on the other hand wonder if they responded to me and I didn't get it.

Totally ignore me if this is the most ridiculous idea you've ever heard put forth on an internet forum.

Probably not related, but it's about PM's: when I'm on the phone, I can't respond to PMs because the "send private message" button has disappeared. I can read PM's, I can type out responses, but I can't send them.
