How come Joe changed the font?
Probably the same reason I have to use IE8 – change is afoot! It's temporary I'm sure.

Why cant Ellie post?
She can, but she hasn't taken the time? It's her husband's obsession, and not her's.
Damn, sorry, I made some changes to the main part of the site and it emsmallened everything here too. It should be back to normal now. Thanks for bearing with me – I'm one of those people who can't stop tinkering with things and occasionally it breaks.
Ellie's threatened a few times to come on here and be a troll, asking daft questions etc, but hanging out on a Beatles forum isn't really for her. She's a Beatles fan (Paul is her favourite) but not to the degree that I am.
I made Skye a moderator because I was going on holiday once and needed someone to mind the ship while I was away. And she seems sensible! I'd consider her a friend, yes – we've spoken a bit via email and I still need to send her something in the post (really sorry, I'm terrible). But no, I don't need any more moderators right now, and to the best of my knowledge Skye and I aren't related.

Or having an affair, for that matter

OfflineI have a question:
I posted something, and it said "Awaiting moderation." This has never happened before, and I've posted more than 90 times. What does it mean?

Sometimes things get marked as spam, even if they're legit. I think in your case it was because there were masses of smileys repeated (20 or so apples), and the filter thought something might be awry. Quite often spammers will post many links in one go, or similar words in different phrases. I think that's what happened here.

OfflineStrange occurance.
In the area that says you have x amounts of unread posts i have it saying 2 but when i click on the box to see what they are its empty and says no topics are found. Ive clear brower history and all caches in F12 but it remains, And more strange is that yesterday it was only 1 unread post but nothing there so its went up.
Anyone got any idea why?
Its in FF and IE so not occuring in only one browser.
Also missing the green dot that is activated if you want to be remain logged in during the signing in process and the x in the top right hand corner in pop ups – not that theyre an issue or anything.

OfflineI think it gets add to your "watch list", a list where all the thinks you subscribed to are shown. I think this is also a standard in every forum.
"When I was a robber *Piano Chord* in Boston Place"
"Let's hope this turns out pretty darn good huh"
"Pete may be the best, but Ringo is the star"
Paul:"Don't be nervous John"
John:"I 'm not"

OfflineOne thing that bothers me (but apparently it has not bothered me enough to bring it up -- until now) is that when I type my draft for a comment, the font is nice and dark black, easy to read; but the finished post -- mine and other people's posts -- are a lighter grey, somewhat difficult to read. What's up with that?

That's just the way it is. Do you really have trouble reading the grey? I can make it a bit darker, but I don't think it's all that light.
Thanks Joe. I don't want you to have to change it just for me. It's not a big problem, but it's just a little detail that would be nice. Like right now, as I type this in draft, it feels so nice on my eyes to see this black font… Perhaps if a couple of other readers chimed in and agreed with me, you could adjust it?

On my laptop, I just tilt the screen back a tad and it's immediately darker. It's otherwise totally readable to my 40-year-old eyes.
I see that, but unfortunately my screen won't tilt back that far -- I have to tilt the whole laptop back to get that effect.
