It turns out my friend was right, and he confirmed it by discovering the Beatles Bible.  He gave me the link, and I was impressed.  And the rest is history.

I was reading the Overrated vs Underrated Songs thread and thought, "I'll Get You and I Me Mine are so underrated, why has no one mentioned them?"...so I had to join.
