Sorry, remembered it as label distributor, forgot WEA took over from A&M in the 80s, so it was A&M's offices, in Los Angeles.

George was born at 10 minutes after midnight on the 25 February 1943, according to his mother and sister, and his birth certificate. It wasn't until the 90s that George declared it was the 24th. Maybe he discovered the karma was better for that date.

? Question 8. His sister, Louise?

His apprenticeship was at Blacker's, and he would say he was paid £1 10s, Lewisohn (sorry reading it at moment, not cheating just what I'm reading) has it as £3 10s, same as other apprentices there.

Wait, we're allowed to refer to Lewisohn for these answers? I could have done that from the beginning.

I've only seen recent pics of Louise because of the book she's working on.

He kinda gave himself away with the footnote on the 90s (remember, I accidentally ordered the same edition he has).

Ah, it's all for fun. At least someone cares enough to cheat for George. a-hard-days-night-george-10

I never actually knew about George saying the 24th was his birthday in the 90s, interesting

I knew he claimed a different birthday than the one on his certificate, but I didn't know when he'd started to claim it. And I wish I could remember where I'd read the wartime hospital clock info, because it might lend more credence to George's hunch.

Sorry, not cheating! Am I meant to pretend the book I'm reading is not teaching me things that are going into my brain! Anyone interested, I am about to start Year 3: 1960, which means the information I have drawn on from the book, I have read in the last week, and put into this little brain of mine!

I think it's the timing of the answers that creates a grey area. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I figure ASJ has made it a rule not to refer to Lewisohn because she wants to test the knowledge we already had of George or take guesses. I happen to be reading around where you are, and to me that means I make a choice to either temporarily stop reading or I don't participate in the game.

Anyway, just for fun.

There's a difference between checking the book, and remembering what you've read!

EDIT: ASJ put up the quiz tonight. I haven't read the book tonight. Just me knowing things I have already read. I'll do the first chapter of 1960 before I sleep though.

You hadn't brought it up in earlier responses, so it seemed like suddenly new info. But if you're pulling it up from memory, you're pulling it up from memory. apple01

I'm answering questions here and there, and not attempting the full list. ASJ relisted the questions on this page, with the answers she'd accepted, I looked at the partial answers she'd accepted, and decided to fill in where I could. And on those early years questions, having just read it, it was fresh on the brain.

12. What prank did George play on Willie Weeks during the Dark Horse tour?

My memory isn't great as im usually flitting between this and that and everything ends up merging but i remember a story where George stole took someone's trousers once and then drove away meaning the guy had to run down the road without theirs on.

Didn't George get his guitar around the age of 5 or 6, there is the famous picture of him as a little boy with a guitar in his home. I wont look it up as that would be cheating.a-hard-days-night-john-1
