^ There's controversy about his birth date

I thought that he said himself his birthday is the 25th? But that he thought it was the 24th growing up?

I heard it the other way, he celebrated his birthday as the 25th up until the 90s when he said it was the 24th. But I always celebrate it on the 25th :)

And while looking up the context, I found this Wiki page on Muppet-Beatle connections (the above was shot during an SNL stint). For some reason, I love that sweater on him.

What about George Harrison with a cat?

Or George Harrison with a hat?

I think you get my drift :D

:-D I like his moustache during Let It Be, but I admit I prefer stache-less George.

Welcome to the board, FizzleJayWay.

Interview with George from the 90s posted at Noise11 that's been making the rounds on the anniversary of his passing. Interestingly, he says "Something" wasn't written for Patti. I wonder if that's the case or this was a matter of post-divorce revisionism.

George never said that 'Something' was about Patti, though. People just assumed because it sounds like a love song, and he was married to her at the time. I remember reading another interview where he says that it's about God, and another where he says it's about nobody in particular….

Also, if I remember correctly, Patti said in her book that it was about her. But I borrowed it from the library so I can't quote it.

She was the first to hear it and said it was about her, but I can't recall if he told her it was.

Patti writes in Wonderful Tonight of Something, "He told me, in a matter-of-fact way, that he had written it for me."

I think George's statements are the revisionism of somebody after a relationship has ended, and that he just wasn't asked about it at the time because the subject seemed obvious. You're not going to ask a married man if the love song he's written is about his wife.

You get the same thing with Paul, where songs he wrote about Jane, he now says weren't really about her.

Thanks for clarifying. I agree with you. Though, playing devil's advocate, one could say Patti's the one engaging in revisionism as there's no way to verify.

Oh, interesting.
