OfflineI thought it as the chant first and then long long long played over the credits (i

that song).
I'd like to apologise in advance if i post any spoilers before anyone sees the film. Spring is a long time away to remember what not to write.

OfflineIf you have a laptop, chances are good you can change the region code and watch the DVD. I have a Sony Vaio laptop and it let's me change the region code 5 times before it locks into the last one you choose. If you are able to do this, then order the DVD from amazon in the UK and won't have to wait until the american release next Spring.

OfflineOh god! Someone needs to post this documentary really soon! It's hard to avoid the posts on Tumblr in reaction to movie. I would like to know for myself. I'm also avoiding everything in this post. So I'm going to assume you all (who saw it) enjoyed the documentary and love George a little more than you did before.

OfflineUpon further review…
I was thinking about my post from yesterday when I thanked those who have seen it for not spoiling it. My new thought is, am I being selfish? If I saw it, I'd certainly want to discuss it.
Therefore, I feel that if I don't want to know too much about the film before seeing it myself, it is my responsibility to avoid reading about it.
Sorry if I have inhibited anyone from sharing their thoughts.

Not at all, Zig! I know how long we've all been waiting to see the film, and I actually think it'd be selfish of me to then talk about all of the highlights. I was just lucky to be able to see it first, and I don't think it'd be fair to ruin it for everybody else just because you're not from the UK! I honestly don't mind.

Offline1. I agree with Zig's post yesterday, not his addition of this morning. Thanks for letting me not know.
2. I would just buy the UK DVD, however the cross-Atlantic Shipping is probably astronomical, on top of customs and the rest of that lot.

Shipping for my Deluxe Edition was pretty high at about $35.00 but I am getting it in 2 – 4 days instead of 6 – 10 days which would only be around $10.00 I believe. I just didn't want it to be damaged and changing hands more than it has to. Amazon is going to ship out on October 10th and I should have it by the latest next Friday.

OfflineDon't ask me how, but I got the first part.
Scorcese has another hit. Amazing documentary. I almost cried when Astrid told the story of John in Stuart's studio.

OfflineI watched it today with Doctor Robert and some other people. The first half of the first half seems to be quite trippy, and there were a lot of jumps cuts in and out of songs. Then in the second half, there wasn't much attention paid to George's solo career- All Things Must Pass got plenty, as did Bangladesh, and the Dark Horse tour got some, but the rest was barely touched upon, and it felt like the Wilburys were only mentioned to explain why Tom Petty was there.

OfflineApart from Cloud 9 George wasnt that interested in the albums, caring less with each release and getting more annoyed with the music scene. Neither were they much of a success. The Wilbury's have more public interest due to the personnel and had greater commercial success.
There are gaps but that was always going to be the case with a documentary thats lasts 3 1/2 hours but has so much to cover. It could easily have been double the running time but i cant see the majority of people wanting to sit thru a 7 hour film – even if it was George.

OfflineI thought what he said was clear and understandable. Some of it was from the '95 anthology including a few that hadnt been unused or were slightly longer.
Looking forward to the bbc screening in November. It needs a second viewing and can also sky+ it.

OfflineI think my favourite part was the comment George made to Paul when they hugged at the Anthology reunion thing. (I'm not sure whether that was footage that has been released before or not, so I won't say what it was until you've all seen it.)
That was my favourite part – hilarious!
Have just sat and watched the Blue Ray version including the bonus features. I've never known four hours pass so quickly.

OfflineI know *last week* it was playing at this small indie theater in town. (The same one that played Nowhere Boy last October), so I hope it's still there on Sunday. Three hours, though without a pause button! Also, a George Harrison exhibit tied into this documentary is moving into the Grammy Museum, replacing the John Lennon one they had earlier. If I can, I may try to make a complete day of it on Sunday.
