On 30 December 1999, 36-year-old Michael Abram broke into the Harrisons’ Friar Park home and attacked Harrison with a kitchen knife, puncturing a lung and causing head injuries before Olivia Harrison incapacitated the assailant by striking him repeatedly with a poker and a lamp. Being a loner does not mean you don’t need people in your like. Not all of us are social butterflies and have to have people surrounding us all the time. I am kind of a loner and am very happy with my wife, children and a few close friends. I don’t need to be the center of attraction. I like my time to myself.

Right. There is a difference between a “loner” and a “leave me aloner”. I always got the sense that George loved to be left alone in general, but still enjoyed a wealth of close friends. One look at all of the folk on stage during Concert For George or a viewing of Living In The Material World proves my point. The man was by no means a loner.
