Thanks for the update Inner Lightmal-evans I was just wondering about that recently.

All we need now is for Mark Lewisohn to finish his damned book already!!

EDIT: Just Pre-ordered this and the re-release of Ram. The month of May is gonna rock!

FINALLY!!! God, I want this.

(Okay, maybe it's a Canadian thing, but seeing Canada in a BB thread title has gotten me slightly patriotic now. Thanks for mentioning us, Inner Light!)

I finally got to watch this. It was pretty interesting, I guess I didn't really know how much Friar Park meant to George. Or how important chanting was to him.

Awesomeapple01 I'm sure you won't be disappointed, I saw it a little while ago when it was aired on TV( it gets aired here before it's released there, it's so weird) and it was a "free channel", I wonder how they could afford it

A bit late, but still pretty exciting. I actually made my mom get HBO just so I could see it, and we still have it recorded. Not that anyone cares, but yeah

Totally get what you mean, Sun King. I get a weird queasy feeling when I read about or see a Canadian too.

I watched this again last night…enjoying different parts each time…

George has always been quite funny…two of my favorite parts are when he is talking about writing his first song,  "Don't Bother Me", he says …" I thought that if John and Paul can do it (write songs)…then everybody must be able to." lol

And also the joke about how many Beatles it takes to change a lightbulb…four.

Despite all of the talk about George being labeled "quiet" and then later, "weird"…overall he seems to be the one of the four who once he got thru the trauma of Beatlemania, was able to form the most close, lasting friendships with a huge variety of people, work with almost anybody with drama, as well as the one who worked the hardest at producing good work, instead of just putting stuff out. The comparison between his first post-Beatles work, and that of John, Paul and even Ringo, is unbelievable.

I also really enjoyed the part where he watched "This Boy" video with friends…he was very good-natured about it and not at all disparaging. Just overall a good film to watch over and over…loved his postcards and letters to his mom, from the road, as well.

Just bought the 2-DVD film set today from the local shops – only $13 which seems a good price, I look forward to watching it soon.  It's been added to the stack of 40 or so CDs and DVDs by the fabs that I have to catch up on :)

On the demos CD disc – how is it?  It is on sale for $15 at the moment (I like to support the local store even when prices are a bit outrageous).

Just watched LITMW again (third time) – wonderful, wonderful film. Fascinating to see the effect George had on people.

I first saw it at the movie theatre with a full house. The sound was superb and the buzz in the theatre was great.

Just finished the first DVD 10 minutes ago, loved it, time flew by and the sound was great – makes me think I might just have to go and get that CD now.

I bought this DVD when I was out in Germany a couple of months back. I'd already seen it on some website and I remember crying I think(?) But the 2nd time I watched it a couple of weeks ago, I bawled seriously- the most unattractive crying you have ever seen, blood shot eyes, runny nose it was disgusting and I cried for about an hour straight at 2am a-hard-days-night-paul-3 The only thing that annoyed me was the lack of "extras"- I think the  documentary could have done with more "home video" footage and should I say it- less Beatles talk :O I mean we've all heard it before sure there were a couple of nice anecdotes but chancers are if you're watching the documentary, you already know all about The Beatles.

I got it for a good deal anyways €10 but it's a shame there are more extras on the "deluxe version". Did anybody here even buy the deluxe version?

Thing is a lot of Beatles fans would've bought that – and when I say Beatles fans, I mean not particularly George fans. Make a doc and not talk about the Beatles much and you're making your target market smaller, as they'd be Beatles fans who wouldn't bother.

The first time I watched it I was barely able to hold back the tears…until Ringo's final recollection of George at the end. Then, it all came pouring out.

To me, losing a Beatle is like losing an older brother. I can't, and frankly don't care to, help it. It's just the way it is.

Paul and Ringo are not allowed to die…unless all 3 of us die in the same car crash…and we lose our hair.
