1958, George Harrison joined Liverpool group The Quarrymen. The group who were named after Lennon's school featured John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Len Garry, Eric Griffiths and John Lowe.

OfflineGeorge did join the band in February 1958 about six months after McCartney hooked up with Lennon. I love the part in the Harrison documentary were McCartney say's that him and Lennon were not very good guitar players and needed a great lead guitar player and so brought in Harrison. That should put to rest all the fans who have said that McCartney was a better guitarist then Harrison.
