On the other hand, however, I was always a bit irritated George's lack of volume-pedal precision in "I Need You"…

I wonder, was I Need You recorded before or after Yes It Is? The Yes It Is Guitar is Fab.
Here is some info I found regarding the recording sessions for 'I Need You' and 'Yes It is'
I hope this helps.
Another important overdub occurred next, which was George’s lead guitar work throughout the song. He used a foot-controlled tone pedal which was hooked up to the volume of the guitar. (This devise would be more commonly used as a wah-wah pedal very soon afterward by various artists.) Finally, Ringo tapped out a beat on a cowbell during the bridges. By about 4 pm, the song was complete and they then worked to complete the other unfinished song from the day before, namely “Another Girl.” The later session on this day was used to record the song “Yes It Is,” which also featured George’s tone pedal.

OfflineHow could I choose just one favorite? The guitar solo from Something is amazing. The backwards solo from I'm Only Sleeping is awesome. I cannot help but smile when I watch George play the guitar solo from I Saw Her Standing There on the Beatles first Ed Sullivan Show appearance. He looked so happy and lively for someone who had the flu.

I believe George used a volume pedal on I Need You and Yes It Is – this is not the same thing as a wah-wah pedal. The volume pedal creates the swells of sound you hear on George's guitar in those songs.
To hear George use a wah-wah pedal listen to all the early rehearsals during the Let It Be movie. He'd just gotten the wah-wah and was trying it out on almost every tune. They are similar yet distinctly different pedals and effects.
Oh and for best George solo – Till There Was You. Watch him play it live on Ed Sullivan – wow.

OfflineI have always liked his solo in I'm Down. I saw Her standing there has a nice solo too.
I always wondered how we like associate the guitar in Octopus' Garden with the beach or something. And why does George sometime play the solo in Till There Was You, slowly and sometimes fast.

"Let's hope this turns out pretty darn good huh"
"Pete may be the best, but Ringo is the star"
Paul:"Don't be nervous John"
John:"I 'm not"

OfflineAll My Loving. Its a short solo but its just so jumpy and exciting. IMO its the first truly great George guitar solo, the first one which shows he's an exceptionally player and his talent is extraordinary.
2nd Place I would say Something because it is simply beautiful. I also really like The Night Before, and his guitar work work throughout Beatles For Sale…dammit there are just too many good ones!
