Okay so this isn't strictly related to George but because Roy was in The Wilbury's it's worth a mention that Barbara Orbison, the widow and manager of Roy, has died of pancreatic cancer aged 60.

A family spokeswoman said she died at a Los Angeles medical centre on Tuesday – the 23rd anniversary of her husband's death.

Thanks for sharing this very sad news. I was going to post it.

It was interesting to see that this was in the main news everywhere. I didn't know much about Orbison but what I read, she did a lot to keep her husband legacy alive.

I was just listening to the TW's while eating lunch and came back to find this post. Sad news indeed.

Quite shocked to hear Barbara had died as 60 is no age nowadays. I have the memory that Barbara was a big influence in the reissues of the Travelling Wilburys volumes a few years ago. It was criminal that they had slipped into obscurity.

That's really sad. She was such a big inspiration for me and we even share a name (it's my middle name). a-hard-days-night-george-5
