From the article you linked to:
"...and since 2008 its anniversary has been celebrated as Beatles Day in both Liverpool and Hamburg"

Nice, but hardly universal - I meant more like Christmas with a day off of work and presents. And, you did not ask a question.

We would love them 2.25 times more than we already do. (The Fab 9?)

What if the Beatles turned Elvis on to pot like Dylan did for them?

Then E would've had a marijuana-leaf-shaped swimming pool dug at Graceland, recorded an album called Rubber Memphis Soul, and eaten even more cheeseburgers. And demanded that the script for "Fun In Acapulco" be re-written.

(actually Elvis had already tried hash brownies, at the very least, some months previous to the Beatles visit but never mind...)

What if the Beatles had encouraged Ringo to take accordion lessons?

One day, a tape-op got a tape on backwards, he went to play it, and it was all "Neeeradno-undowarrroom" and it was "Wow! Sounds Indian!" -- Paul McCartney

Then Ringo would go mad with power and demand that every song would have an accordion and no one would be able to stop him!

The album would be damn long - but make EMI a lot of money (Ringo had a lot of fans back then).

What if George Martin hadn't of gotten his services retained when he left working for Parlophone and EMI and became his own man?

George M. would have tried to become an accountant, but failed. He then would have set out for China in a raft, from a dock in New York. He would have memorized Chinese by the time he got there, and forgotten English. So, when he lands in Africa, he is speaking Chinese. The native Amazon tribe kidnap him, and he would still be there today. george-martin

What if Paul had a press conference and announced that there was a $100 million prize for anyone who could right a Beatles-worthy song about George Washington?

What if everyone on the forum teleported to The Beatles hotel room in 1964 how would history change?

Time would go into meltdown as we met our future selves on this forum 35+years later. I don't think i could cope with two of me on this forum.

Since this thread has been re-brought to my attention (thanks Anna) i'll post this here.

What would have happened if pianist Roy Young had accepted Brian's [supposed] offer and joined the Beatles on a permanent basis? Would the others have accepted him?

Any offer to Roy Young would have to have been pre-endorsed by the boys, so one would have to assume their acceptance. From what I've read, they liked Roy. I do know that Brian insisted, during their final Hamburg stint at the end of 1962 , that the Beatles not be joined on stage by any other artists (even though they were joined at least once by Sheridan), so how long Roy's "permanency" would have lasted would have been in question. Would George Martin approve?

I've read that Epstein clause as well but in addition to Sheridan both Horst and Fred Fascher sang with the foursome as we have the audio (tho it might be argued that they weren't true artists). There is also speculation they also played with Kingsize Taylor (tho not on the recordings that are said to be them) and others. However wasn't Brian back in England working (at least some of the time) and if he was out of the picture John especially wouldnt have followed such a rule, if anything he would have delighted in breaking it.

I cannot see John, Paul or George accepting any newcomer into the band unless it was their decision so its surprising to read of Brian offering anyone the chance to join the band (excluding Ringo of coursea-hard-days-night-ringo-15) - unless it came from the others, which i heavily doubt.

Yeah, I knew about the bad-ass boxers, but as you said I did not consider them artists. And, you are correct in that John would have raised the proverbial finger to Brian's rule as he was back in London for most, if not all of those final two weeks. They so hated being there that final time, they probably would have let the Toilettenfrau belt out a tune or two just to spite him.

There are a few interview where George would joke that he proposed to Paul since they are the only not married Beatles at the time

What if the Beatles had synthesizers in the 1960s?

By hook or by crook, I'll be last in this book.

If you consider a Moog a synthesizer, then one was used by George on Abbey Road.
