Well, since the fellow who started the thread answered one question that was posed, I guess it is okay if we all do … as long as we then add a question that is based off the last question posed. That’s the way I see it. If wrong, let me know.
What if mmm’s question were true, would we have “Abbey Road ?”
(On a side note, ack we are at the end of the Beatles. The what ifs might dry up quickly.?.? If so, can anyone bring us around to the early 60’s?)

The first Abbey Road sessions came, more-or-less, straight off the back of the Get Back sessions. Work began on I Want You on 22 February. They were studio beasts by that time. Had been since 1967. There would always have been a second 1969 album. (Which is what Abbey Road was, even if the first wasn’t released until 1970!)
What if The Beatles hadn’t met Billy Preston in Hamburg in ’62?
There! Make the next something early off the back of that! Dragged it back to the beginning!

I’m not sure if this is the most appropriate thread, but today I read that Norman Smith, when applying for a job as trainee engineer, lied about his age (the limit was 28, and he was in his mid-30s). If he hadn’t got the job, would that have affected the Beatles’ sound in any way?
EDIT: Realised I have to answer the previous question. Hmm, well we wouldn’t have ‘The Ballad Of John And Yoko ‘, for sure.
In case my original question isn’t answerable, what if Stu had stayed in the band?
Moving along in our God given ways, safety is sat by the fire/Sanctuary from these feverish smiles, left with a mark on the door.

Offline If Normal Norman wasn’t a part of the Beatles thing then the mixing of the Beatles earlier albums would not be the same.
and for your second thing If Stu had stayed in the band than Paul would continue being frustrated at his bass performance and the John Paul thing would be more divided with John and Stu unless he still dies in 1962.

Offline John might have gone down the wrong path, as someone talked about in the Yoko appreciation thread, and John might’ve died earlier. They obviously wouldn’t have been married, and most of John’s solo career would be different/non-existent. If the other three liked Yoko, John might feel like the others were ganging up on him and might’ve left the Beatles, breaking them up earlier, or maybe he would just leave and the others would stay together. If one of the others really liked her, she might’ve taken him from his wife/girlfriend. Beatles songs like The Ballad Of John And Yoko wouldn’t exist (the Ballad of George and Yoko might!) and more to my dismay neither would Happiness Is A Warm Gun .
(I typed all that out then clicked a link and it was gone! 
I had to retype it, I think I remembered it all though…)

Basically his entire solo career would’ve been TOTALLY different. I can’t even go into specifics, it’d be far too wide reaching.

Offline I think that she would still be part of the band and would still get criticism for her singing. The keyboard player would most likely not be around for long since the Wings band went threw a lot of changes in their line up over the decade they were active. The keyboard would probably sound more professional.
