That person has no relation to you. I believe that would be your second cousin's great great great aunt.

a-hard-days-night-ringo-8 Yeah, I think that's about right. I confused myself. Maybe I should stick to riddles that I don't make up…

I think your riddle should read "Who is my mother's sister's only child's daughter's uncle's aunt?"

Which would make the answer your mother's sister.

I don't know how to do arrows or anything connecting up but

Mother                                                                             Sister

Child (Uncle) speaker of rhyme                                              Child

                                                                                       Daughter

My mother's sister's only child is my cousin because my mother's sister is my aunt and my aunt's only child is my cousin. My cousin's daughter is my second-cousin. My second-cousin's uncle is her father's brother because her mother (my aunt) is an only child. My second-cousin's father is not related to me, so neither is my second-cousin's father's brother. My second-cousin's father's brother's aunt (my second-cousin's uncle's aunt)  is my second-cousin's great-aunt, and she is not related to me.

And the speaker can't also be the uncle mentioned in the riddle, can s/he (especially if the speaker is female)?

Gah. My head hurts.

If the speaker were male, the question as I ask it (without the grandmother bit), boils down to who is the uncle's aunt. The uncle's aunt would be his mother's sister. "Who is my mother's sister's only child's daughter's uncle's aunt?"

Mother                                                                             Sister (Uncle's aunt)

Child (Her Uncle) speaker of rhyme                                              Child

                                                                                       Daughter (His niece)

Right, but the question is "Who is my mother's sister's etc. ?" So the speaker can't be the uncle, because the question says "my" and the uncle is my (aka the speaker's) mother's sister's only child's daughter's uncle. And the uncle in the riddle isn't even technically related to the speaker.

I'm going to need to think about this. It would've helped if you said you knew the exact relationship. Now, halfway through typing a response, I realised it might not add up. Doesn't help that you've said you're not sure. My brain is bleeding!

I'm going to try a new one that (hopefully) makes more sense.

Who is Egroeg's maternal grandmother's only child's only child's only child's only child's grandmother's mother?

(By the way, "Egroeg" is used so the speaker is a specific person. It does not necessarily mean that this is actually the way that the people in my family are related to one another.)

Reviving this thread!

Heres the riddle:

The person who made it doesn't want it.

The person who bought it doesn't need it.

The person who needs it doesn't know it.

A fresh apple for the winner: apple01

If I spoke prose you'd all find out, I don't know what I talk about.

No, don't worry. There's a lot of new members here now that might not know it. I was just annoyed at myself because we've had it before, and still I don't know!
