That hairstyle from Instant Karma makes some people think that he's Eric Clapton and not John Lennon.

They do look very similar at that age. The granny glasses gives it away though. I know a lot of people that don't recognize John without his glasses on! Eric did/does wear glasses (I think just to read), but they're much smaller, I think.

That is a very good drawing, Greg, well done!

My new John piece, finished this week. INK (rOtring pen 0.1mm nib) on A4 cartridge paper.

Slight black / grey wash with Prismacolor pencil.

Original now signed up and spoken for, gifted to a special friend.

Had loads of fun drawing this, my second Lennon piece. I could draw him week in, week out.

Not sure who did these ones.  The second one looks a little like Fiona Fu's style but I don't think it's her:

Speaking of Fiona, I have been posting a lot of her "tame" stuff on Facebook.  She's ridiculously good:

I'm not sure who did this one, but it's really good:

Via Beatles News: Rare Beatles Artwork to be Unveiled during the Toronto Film Festival

John Brower, a promoter of The Toronto Rock and Roll Revival held at Varsity Stadium on September 13, 1969, brings to Toronto a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see the only authorized physical copy of artwork created by all four Beatles.

The original was given to the Monterey Pop Festival in 1967 as a gift from The Beatles who were unable to attend. The magnificent example measuring 40 x 60 inches will be unveiled at The Hard Rock Cafe on Tuesday, September 10, 2013, at an exclusive Film Festival party. Doors open @ 9 P.M.

The Monterey artwork is interesting. The article oversells it in two regards however.

The amount to which all four collaborated in its creation, apart from all signing it, is questionable to say the least. It is most likely a Paul piece (who was on the board of Monterey) with a space left for the signatures.

More importantly, were the claim of equal contribution by all four to its creation to be proved, it is not, as Bower claims, "…the only time they all participated in such an artistic endeavor." And the other item that does exist, and whose creation was photographed by Robert Whitaker, is a painting they titled "Images of a Woman". It was painted while they were cooped up in the Tokyo Hilton during the 1966 Japan tour, each Beatle given a quarter of the 30-inch by 40-inch paper as they sat around a table with a lamp sat on it that they all worked towards it.Where the base of the lamp had been, they each signed their segment of the work. It was sold last year for $155,250.

I definitely agree with the opinions that Paul's portion looks like it represents a vagina.

Oh, gosh, yes, I always figured that was deliberate.

Images of a Woman is the one piece of Beatles memorabilia I would love to have if I had the money and opportunity.

From The Examiner:

Dark Hall Mansion announced Sept 8 its latest limited edition Beatles release, "May I Introduce To You" by contemporary artist SHAG, will be available only through a special lottery to take place this week. The company said that it will release the work in conjunction with the Beatles' Apple Corps Ltd. as screen prints this Thursday. The new work is inspired by the Beatles' movie “Yellow Submarine.”

(You can see pictures of the prints in the slide show.)

Here's the Dark Hall Mansion page with higher-res images.

I think this qualifies as art of some sort.

World’s Largest Corn Maze celebrates the Beatles

During the last few years the staff at Richardson’s Adventure Farm have saluted the country’s Military, observed the 100 year anniversary of the Girl Scouts, and this year, they are celebrating 50 years since the release of the Beatles’ first album—Please Please Me.

“We wouldn’t be doing all of this if it wasn’t so much fun,” said George. “It’s great to see people connect with agriculture in a fun way.”

Their tribute is displayed in a 28-acre corn maze with an 11-mile labyrinth of trails and is slated as the World’s Largest Corn Maze.
