I think it's great you're going through a phase,

and I'm awfully glad it'll all be over in a couple

of days

I heard about this before the BBC reported it. He died here in Wales.

Sad news indeed. A very funny and talented actor.

Outside of The Beatles and Mal didnt he appear in most beatles films above anyone else?

Yes. And he played bigger roles than Mal.

I was just phoned up by a BBC journalist I know. “We’re writing about Victor Spinetti and we need a Beatles expert.” Great! I’m going to be quoted. “And we were wondering if you could suggest anyone.” Bah. I told them to give Richard Lester a ring.

Victor Spinetti would have loved that!

In addition, there has to be a plot joke here somewhere (I see it all now. It’s a plot…a plot.)

To me, he was the funniest non-Beatle in A Hard Day’s Night . A truly funny man who will be missed.a-hard-days-night-george-5

According to the Welsh press, in the cancer wards and hospices he was in he’d go around telling stories to all the patients, cheering them up. He was a true performer that couldn’t stop giving. I wish I’d met him – he was being treated for a while not far from where I live (not that I’d have bothered him or anything).

This is being shown on BBC One Wales tomorrow night, and features Paul McCartney . It’ll be on iPlayer afterwards, though I’m not sure of the international availability. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0116svk

That’s very sad to hear that he’s passed away. My love to his family. He truly was a great and talented actor. He always made me laugh in The Beatles’ films. Sad that he had to leave us. He will forever hold a place in my heart. heart
