OfflineI looked through this section and have not seen this film mentioned, so I figured it would be okay to bring it up.A few days ago I watched this movie, "Two of us" again which was made for VH1 back in 2000 or 2001 . It basically paints a picture of what could have happened if McCartney and Lennon got back together and reconciled(which I believe they did, according to both of them- remember the famed SNL incident where they almost went down to the studios to take Lorne Michaels up on his offer for $3000 for a Beatles reunion?) It was pretty interesting and Aidan Quinn really did a good job portraying Mccartney. The other guy ,Jared Harris is not to believable as John Lennon-but he has his moments.
I believe it was directed by Michael Lindsay Hogg, which is the same guy who did the "Let it Be" film , so maybe he had some insight to this story? Anyway, it was a cute little movie and it made me smile- I am a huge fan and I always wonder "what if? "I really wish they did go down to SNL studio that night…..

OnlineI´ve never heard of the film before.
I don´t really go for these type of films where there are actors imitating Paul or John or whatever. I´ll check it out though.

OfflineI thought so too, but his accent and mannerism was a little off- but interestingly enough by the end of the movie he started looking a little more like Lennon to me. Not the kind of reaction I had to the kid who played Paul in "Nowhere Boy"-lol! I just couldn't get into him as Paul at all!
Aidan Quinn was alright as Paul, imo.
It was a fun little movie, I would watch it again!

OfflineJust watched this film for the 2nd time, and I think it is superb. Of course there are fanctual inaccuracies, and that rooftop scene may be unrealistically emotional- but I think the actors are just stunning. Its uncanny how good both their impersonations are, but I think Aidan Quinn as McCartney is probably slightly better.
If I was doing a film like that I'd have them running into each others arms and belting out All My Loving together and being best friends again, but I like Two Of Us because its awkward and tense, and there are grudges and wives and memories and unsaid things which come between them. I think its a fantastic film.

Offline"Is my name Brian?"
I suppose that director has his own ideas about that holiday in Spain…
Anyway, the film's okay but Lennon's actor just annoys me to no end. He makes John seem like this pissed off, bored with his life type of guy who's rude to his fans( although he is said to have been rude to just about anyone else, he was polite with his fans. At least that's what I've been told), and of course he doesn't look the least bit like John and certainly does not sound like him

OfflineJohn could be very kind to fans and he could be quite abrupt and short tempered (but that was mainly in the full-on beatlemania years when fans tried to rip his hair out and steal his clothes whilst he was in them). In the early days in Liverpool all Beatles were able to have a laugh with the audience and say a friendly hi in the streets.
I havent seen the film and have no interest in doing so. I dislike and get annoyed with films that take the truth and spin it into whatever the Director thinks happened and what s/he wants to say.

I totally agree. I much prefer fact to fiction.

OfflineI got bored last night and watched the whole movie on Youtube. Again it's a fictional story, which I am not a fan of. The guy that plays Paul got his mannerisms down pretty good, and the accent is okay.. better than John's character at least, his accent sounded like he was Irish! They didn't look close enough either, I'm really picky about that. It makes it even harder to get into the movie. John's face was too round. Paul's nose was too big, and he was too heavy.
All in all… meh.

OnlineThat´s one of the reasons why I don´t really watch films like Two Of Us, the accents. They annoy me soo much when they´re not accurate. Mind you, John does have Irish in his family (like most liverpudlians), so I suppose that´s not too bad.
