I just heard about this project a few weeks ago and I think it's very interesting sounding. I do hope that it's more than just a film and more of a multimedia release, with CDs and DVDs as well as the feature film, but I guess we'll see when(ever) it ends up being released! It's something similar to what I've done with another favorite band of mine, Blur, with my 2 books on their live concerts, so I'm very intrigued by this.

There is definately a Bournemouth '63 concert out there which hasnt come to light, a partial audio clip of a song from Carlise was aired recently on a bbc radio programme, and a Swedish radio station recently aired All My Loving from July '64 which was previously unreleased and the dj looks to have more, so there is stuff out there unheard and not commonly circulating. Plus who knows what Apple, Paul, Ringo, Yoko and Oliivia have in their vaults so there is cause for hope in this.

There has been so much written about The Beatles (and it still continues) that it can sometimes be overwhelming As for The Beatles Live! Project ... I wish Apple success on the project. And I look forward to watching the end product. As an aside ... last night as I was watching The Beatles Feb. 1964 Washington DC performance I noted a young lady in the audience with a tape ...

I dont know of a definative list tho im sure one is out there somewhere. There is a site called The Beatles on DVD that has gone to fantastic lengths to document every clip of the beatles known to be out there. Books like the 910 Guide by Doug Sulpy, both volumes of That Magic Feeling: The Beatles' Recorded Legacy by John C Winn and The Beatles Film and TV Chronicle: 1961 - 1970 also have entries on available footage and audio tho a small amount of clips and segments have been unearthed since publication so they are slightly out of date (tho still excellent sources).

This begs the question ... is there a definitive list of Beatles live concert performances that were captured on film and have been thusly digitized? Or does anyone care to share their own list? I know there is a lot of film that has been digitized to YouTube and DVD, but I have yet to find a comprehensive list online. As a guitarist/musician ... I am particularly interested in a current list of digitized film of Beatles performances where there is no miming. For instance ... I am aware of:

I think perhaps it's to tap the mass of unbootlegged material that's potentially in existence. There's probably not much of any real quality left anymore, but you must imagine that there are 8mm film reels, photographs, shabby recordings and whatnot stashed away and somewhat forgotten in basements and attics by thousands of people who attended concerts and shows back in the 60s.

I think everything significant in the way of live recordings is already in circulation by the bootleggers and traders, so I'm curious to see what might possibly turn up from the vaults.

I'm curious about this request for fans to send in their own materials - surely that stuff will be used primarily to augment the voluminous footage and whatnot that already exists in the vaults, rather than standing on its own, right? 'Cause i don't see the point of them prioritizing unofficial material when there's so much official stuff that simply isn't being made commercially available.
