Him carrying Paul/Frodo would be a crowning moment of awesomeness for the fella.

I have my doubts about their acting ability though. I mean, could George really pull off Gandalf?

I've tried to read LOTR twice. The first time the book fell apart in my hands halfway through Return of the King when I was 7 or 8. I tried again last year, but again, I gave up in Return of the King. Resolving the cliffhanger at the end of The Two Towers was a drag.

I read somewhere that the reason it wasn't made, was Kubrick turned down the offer because he thought the books were unfilmable.

 

I wish they had done it.. but I wish they cast Paul as Aragorn and Ringo as Frodo... and George making a double role as Faramir and me as Eowyn... a-hard-days-night-george-8

However they were bored senseless hanging around all the time during Help! and they had done the film scene.

I really tried to read TLOTR series but after 100 pages of endless description with little happening, they were in the forest still, i gave up. Tried the movies and was even more bored. Interest dead.

I haven't written about this because it never happened, so it's a low priority.

I know each of The Beatles was cast, but I can't remember who was who (and I hate LOTR - they're tedious books to wade through). The info is out there though.

It was 1965 after all, and the Beatles had already made one movie with a plot centered around a Ring. Who knows what great unpleasantries Ringo would have faced in this movie- making him a hobbit (endless height jokes), casting him as a talking tree...

Yet that potential combined with the psychedelic poster makes me strangely want to see this movie.

'Listomania' is a book about music-history in lists.

Anyways… There was a Beatle chapter, and in the end of the chapter, I found out that Beatles would make a live-action performance of the Tolkien's Lord of the Rings. And I googled it for posters, but they're probably fake.

 

So what do you guys think???
