I've preordered the DVD, and I am going to arrange a special viewing for my friends (popcorn, dimmed lights etc.)

You all will have read that Dave Dee is no longer with us. But Mickey and Titch and I would like to carry on the good work that's always gone down in number two.

I am watching Living In The Material World , now.

Paul say that when George met John for first time , he played " Raunchy " , and then after Paul's talk , We hear that song.

Did Quarrymen(or The Beatles) ever perform and release that song ?

The Quarrymen more than likely did perform it but i dont remember The Beatles ever doing it before The Anthology reunion. It certainly was never recorded before then.

Funny, I was thinking about this film (which I haven't seen) just two days ago, when I was watching "GoodFellas" – I'd seen it many times before, but forgot that Scorsese used a bit of "What Is Life?" in that long coke-paranoia/helicopter scene (along with the Stones, Who, Harry Nilsson and I forget who else.)

The LITMW Deluxe Box is on sale for a limited period only (24 hours expiring at 5pm UK time Tuesday 25th September) for £35.73 ($54.98) at Pop Market.

And the Apple USB is up and coming at the same site at 11pm (UK time). No idea what price and its only for 6 hours!

Why is my above post 'awaiting moderation'? Kind of defeats the point of the post if it takes 24 hours so lets remove the link.

You can get the deluxe box of LITMW at POP Market for £35 until 5pm tomorrow UK time. The Beatles USB Apple will be on sale at the same place from 11pm tonight for 6 hours no idea what price.

Now it works. Must be the link. If you want either go to google and search for 'Pop Market'.

I just saw that "Awaiting Moderation" on your post from 24 September 2012 5.32pm.

That is the third time I've seen that in past week and do not know wht is causing it. I did send Joe a PM regarding the 2 that I saw last week. Hopefully he can diagnose what is causing it to happen.

In any event, I released your post from the dreaded "Awaiting Moderation" status. Thanks much for your patience.mal-evans

I didnt have any patience. I posted immediately repeating the same info but removed the link. Maybe it didnt like the advertising aspect tho not sure it know unless the forum workings are super intelligent like it posters.. Anyway thanks Zig.

You are most welcome, sir. Joe investigated the other 2 posts this happened to. While the circumstances are dissimilar, the issue with your post could have had something to do with the link. The software that deems a post to be "Awaiting Moderation" is automated. His explanation can be found in the "Introduce Yourself…" thread.

And thank you for giving all of us the benefit of the doubt in regard to super intelligence.a-hard-days-night-ringo-13

I had a quiet night at work, so I sat down for 3.5 hours and watched it.  A few thoughts:

- It was interesting how Scorcese mined so many 'Anthology' outtakes.

- While I didn't need almost 2 hours of Beatles history re-cap, it's always nice to see, and it was great that it focused on George's experience, when much of his normally gets pushed aside over John & Paul.

- Once you get to the real meat of doc (the solo years), you get a real understanding that George was such a good and tender soul, with many people who truly loved him.

- I still can't get over how he maintained his friendship with Eric Clapton, even immediately after Pattie left him.

- Did Olivia get a serious facelift?  I mean, she's beautiful but she doesn't look much like she did in the 80s and 90s.

- The piece with Dhani near the end, about George's fathering, was very touching.  He seems like a very even-keeled man.

- But every time Dhani would talk, I would squint and try to identify the endless guitars hanging on the wall behind him…

In the end, it's an essential doc.  Now that we've had 'Imagine: John Lennon', the impossible-to-find-other-than-YouTube 'Wingspan', which is nice, but really feels like an extended EPK. I seriously think that Ringo deserves some sort of documentary.  Obviously, it's not going to be an epic yarn, but I really would be interested in the Ringo point of view of his pre-Beatles time, as well as his 70s solo years.

E is for 'Ergent'.
