OfflineI've heard about this for a while and I was wondering when it would come out. I hope it's like that Bob Dylan one "No Direction Home" which was absolutely incredible. George's life was a bit of a mystery so this movie will hopefully shed some much needed light on him.

It must have been really secret – there isn't even an imdb.com entry on it yet! I do wonder how you can sum up a whole life in two to three hours.
I wonder too, how 2 to 3 hours will suffice. I do have faith in Scorsese, however. He did an unbelievable job on The Last Waltz.
To the fountain of perpetual mirth, Let it roll for all its worth.

I also heard that they're making a movie called Nowhere Boy. I think it's about John Lennon. Not sure.
I'm trying to work out if this comment is a joke or not. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.
To be fair, I don't think it's been released in the US yet. It comes out in October this year
Yeah, sorry, I presumed it was common knowledge as it's been out here for months now
Here's a review I wrote of Nowhere Boy, if anyone cares: http://www.beatlesbible.com/fi…..where-boy/

OfflineOh haha I didn't know it was out already….
Anyway, thanks for letting me know it's real. I only heard of it from a reference to it in a review for Kickass. (Please disregard the swear word in the name)
Oh, and I read the review. I'm gonna watch it MIDNIGHT PREMIERE, BABEH!

Depressing, isn't it?
I'm looking forward to it, though. Scorsese usually knows what he's doing. George certainly was the most elusive…the most private (?)…so it'll be interesting to see what new stuff it puts out there, but hopefully I'll have read his autobiography before then and won't be relying solely on the film for information. It is authorized/backed by his family, if I remember correctly?

HBO has picked up the North American TV rights to Martin Scorsese's George Harrison documentary "George Harrison: Living in the Material World," HBO announced on Wednesday.
The film -- which, like Scorsese's Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan documentaries "Shine a Light" and "No Direction Home: Bob Dylan," was edited by David Tedeschi -- will debut in two parts on October 5 and 6 of this year.
Interviews with Eric Clapton, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, George Martin, Paul McCartney, Yoko Ono, Tom Petty, Phil Spector, Ringo Starr and Jackie Stewart will help to tell Harrison's story, along with home movies, performance footage and photographs.
"I will never forget the first time I heard [Harrison's 1970 triple-album solo debut] ‘All Things Must Pass,’ the overwhelming feeling of taking in that all glorious music for the first time," Scorsese said. "It was like walking into a cathedral. George was making spiritually awake music – we all heard and felt it – and I think that was the reason that he came to occupy a very special place in our lives. So when I was offered the chance to make this picture, I jumped at it."
“When Martin Scorsese brings a project to HBO, we all know it is going to be very special, and he has added to that body of work with this monumental film on George Harrison,” Michael Lombardo, president, HBO programming, said of the movie.
Harrison passed away in 2001, at the age of 58.

SunKing are you quoting his Royal Hunkness the gorgeous Colin Firth???? Wow…. you're on the right path kid.
Well considering that my chances to see it in the big screen were almost nil, I prefer a HBO release.

Maybe I am, maybe I'm not.
But in actuality, I don't have HBO, so I guess I'll have to buy the DVD in 2012 (or convince my parents to get it. I'll try the latter, if only to get Bill Maher's show and this).
