Yes, I saw this film, but I have a different opinion of it. I really didn't like it, thought it sort of glossed over things and painted the picture in broad strokes. After all, John is such a complicated character... I think a really good filmmaker needs to make "the" definitive film. (I'm sure Nowhere Boy is good, but it's just a teeny slice of his life.)

It was a tv movie, wasn't it? You really can't portray John in a tv movie... he needs at least an R-rating!

Oh, I think I've seen this. I've certainly read the title in a few places, but the mention of Mark McGann makes me think I did see it once, many years ago. If I did, though, I can't remember a thing about it!

I think thats what the film is called. It was a made for tv film which i seen many many years ago starring Mark McGann ( I'm not sure of the girl who played Yoko) I can remember really enjoying it at the time. I recently seen Mark playing John on stage in a tribute to Johns life in Liverpool, which made me think about the film again, so I had a look to see if it was available on dvd.
