I think thats what the film is called. It was a made for tv film which i seen many many years ago starring Mark McGann ( I'm not sure of the girl who played Yoko) I can remember really enjoying it at the time. I recently seen Mark playing John on stage in a tribute to Johns life in Liverpool, which made me think about the film again, so I had a look to see if it was available on dvd. To my amazement it was so i picked up a copy and i still really enjoyed it . It was quite long because i think originally it was a two or three part thing but i watched it in one sitting. It covered all the main points of their life together and was really enjoyable.

Was just wondering if anyone else had seen this film and if so, what you thought of it

Oh, I think I've seen this. I've certainly read the title in a few places, but the mention of Mark McGann makes me think I did see it once, many years ago. If I did, though, I can't remember a thing about it!

Yes, I saw this film, but I have a different opinion of it. I really didn't like it, thought it sort of glossed over things and painted the picture in broad strokes. After all, John is such a complicated character… I think a really good filmmaker needs to make "the" definitive film. (I'm sure Nowhere Boy is good, but it's just a teeny slice of his life.)

It was a tv movie, wasn't it? You really can't portray John in a tv movie… he needs at least an R-rating! Wink
