Isnt that the marching band with the attack on the snow. Clang skies down some slope and wins the competition so i presume either its the national anthem of Clangs or the tune of the ski competition which is played at the award ceremony.

I may be in the wrong place as i havent seen Help! in ages and its another dvd i dont own. I need to read the novel again.

Why was the Barber of Seville used at the end during the credits after Help! (tho its totally amazing and should have been on the US soundtrack and why wasnt it)? Ken Thorne did the soundtrack so it was probably his decision what was used. Maybe they just fitted those parts and there is nothing more to it.

Thank you! Yes, the strange marching band music, that in the movie shows John, George, and Ringo playing in and George taking a bite out of his cymbal, is during the award's ceremony for the skiing competition. I just found that on Youtube.

Now, why does that music sandwich the prelude to Act III of Wagner's Lohengrin on the Help! soundtrack?

Why is it titled "In the Tyrol"? Skiing in Austria?

Any other theories or answers as to why these musical selections were chosen for the movie and placed together on the album?

Last week I saw the San Francisco Opera perform Wagner's Lohengrin and I loved it! During the prelude to Act III, I was thrilled to hear some music that I actually recognized. Usually when I recognize a piece of opera, it's thanks to Bugs Bunny and "Looney Tunes". This time, however, it was thanks to THE BEATLES!

In addition to the songs that THE BEATLES sang during the movie, on the original Capitol / United Artists release of Help!, there was some incidental music as well. This included a song titled "In the Tyrol". Most of this ...
