Still haven't seen Help! (another fan made wary by John's dissing remarks) but I know the DVD's in stock at the Best Buy in the mall just across the road from me, so it's probably just a matter of time before I spend the $17.99 or so and pick it up, even if only so i can give my commentary on this thread or elsewhere.

It is great. The Plot's a little thin (What the Hell was thje Intermission and Part 2 About?), but Overall, worth it.

Not to deconstruct this so much, but the joke with the Intermission was that back then, long movies would have a 10 minute or so intermission for people to stretch their legs or…you know, or get a snack and the joke here is that this one is…10 seconds long and of no real consequence, though I like the bit where John is pulling Ringo up and down like he's on a string.

And part two is hilarious because what else is a concerned mother going to say when her daughter returns home, having just barely escaped getting sacrificed? "Coming home at all hours and all colors!" I love it!

I think Help! is an absolute unforgettable film, I'd have to say it's their most funny, but other people will have different opinions :)

One of The Beatles' greatest outcomes. I have the special edition of this in the house, which I could just about do the whole scripty throughout the film, but I hardly do that because it's The Beatles who make it what it is :)

But overall, a fantastic film, and they should make more film's like these instead of today's rubbish!!

The Beatles;   Paul John George Ringo and me .. Shannon!  Favourite Beatle; James Paul McCartney.

I love this movie. Every time I watch it I laugh at parts I already knew about, but they are just so funny I can't help it! My favorite parts are the 5 scenes where they try to get the ring off, Paul's exciting adventure on the floor, the Ticket To Ride skiing scene, and many more, to many to name.

What I love about this movie is that thinking about it now or when I've just started watching it, I'm thinking "This movie is pretty stupid." But then toward the middle, it seems the movie has worn down any snobbery I might have had and I'm pretty much laughing at anything going on in the movie, either up front or in the background.

Maybe they smoked up so much during the making of this movie, it's possible to get a contact high off it. :) I still love it.

When I watched it for the first time, I saw it with my (Fantastic, and also the reason I like The Beatles) Mom, and she was laughing so hard, because it seemed so crazy on first viewing.

NO, PAUL! DON'T TAKE A BATH IN THE ASHTRAY WITH ORANGE SODA!

If I seem to act unkind, it's only me, it's not my mind that is confusing things.

Excellent!

Although I'm thinking this means the rumored DVD release of Let it Be this year is probably not gonna happen now…:-?

Why do i have a desire to get a Blu-Ray player? Damn Beatles and their movies being rereleased! Havent seen Help! in so long. The I Need You scene is one of my favourites, probably as we get to see the Beatles 'perform' I Need You.ahdn_george_05

As for Let It Be i'd be more shocked if it was released rather than failed to show for the 18th time.

I'm debating whether or not to get since I already have it on dvd. I'm surprise, yet at the same time I'm not that Let It Be has not been released.

Not necessarily.  Remember, both "Yellow Submarine" and "Magical Mystery Tour" were released on Blu-ray last year (the former in June, the latter in October).  I would guess the same will happen again this year.  If not the long-awaited "Let It Be," then hopefully either "A Hard Day's Night" or "The First U.S. Visit" (with whichever 2 not released this year to be released in June & October of next year).

I dont believe that Apple own the rights to A Hard Days Night.

Walter Shenson, A Hard Day's Night's producer, got it written into the contract that after fifteen years (so 1979) the rights reverted to him. It has passed through various hands since then, currently being owned jointly by Miramax and The Weinstein Company (though at the time it was acquired Miramax was owned by Disney, and is now owned by Filmyard Holdings, LLC). The home video sub-license is currently in the hands of Lionsgate.

OK, then, bring on either "Let It Be" or "The First U.S. Visit" on Blu-ray in October (I suppose "Anthology" would be pushing it right now)!  a-hard-days-night-george-10

What's the difference between Blu-ray and dvd? I've always meant to ask someone that.
