Depends on what “that part” is you’re referring to. Care to elaborate?

I don’t answer that one, no. It might make the next Odds & Ends if I decide to do another of those episodes.

This place might implode if we ever did really find out the answer to that question.

Would you make at least a short reply to this post? I’m testing something out.

On this week’s Fab Files we continue our series of looking at each Beatle as a individual and highlighting their best moments, biggest hits and little-heard gems with the man who many probably think of first when someone says “Beatles”: John Lennon . The band’s leader in the early days and always its lightning rod, John has had a fascinating career that deserves a closer look, and this week’s show will look at his career in full, including checking out three common themes in his songwriting, his most controversial song, a rare outtake of one of his most beautiful songs, and much more. The Witty Beatle on this week’s Fab Files this Friday September 12 at 10 PM (EDT) on WETS FM/HD1, as well as this Saturday September 13 at 3 PM (EDT) and late Sunday September 14 at midnight (EDT) on WETS HD2. See the very first post in this topic for info on how to pick up the show online! And now Fab Files is on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/FabFilesonWETSFM

On this week’s Fab Files “Know Your Beatle” month rolls on as Richard Starkey gets the spotlight this week. Who is this Richard Starkey, you say? Well, he drummed for some band that hit it big in the ’60s… beetles, something or other. Anyway, Mr. Starkey had a very interesting career, singing songs about living underwater with octopuses, getting high with the help of some friends, staring at photographs of ex-lovers, etc. He also released a country album and a pop standards album in the same year. And apparently he was a mouse. In other words, not much to talk about.

Ahem…

The Funny Beatle, on this week’s Fab Files this Friday September 19 at 10 PM (EDT) on WETS FM/HD1, as well as this Saturday September 20 at 3 PM (EDT) and late Sunday September 21 at midnight (EDT) on WETS HD2. If I have asked this before, please pardon my forgetfulness and repetition.

Is there a way to get your transcript from an episode, sans songs? Or is the transcript part and parcel of the whole copyright issue?

Inevitably, when you start talking, the dog decides to bark at something, the phone rings, or someone walks into the room and disturbs my listening enjoyment. I want to say “Shut up, wetsroosa’s talking!”

Anyhoo, if it is possible to have a transcript PM’d or something, please let me know.

Never had anyone ask for the transcripts before. I have two MS Word files that I type out these scripts on; usually once an episode is completed, I erase the old script and start anew. (And the episode is recorded a month in advance of its airdate.) I’ll see if the one for this weekend is still on the file; if it is, I’ll send a copy your way.

On this week’s Fab Files we wrap up our monthly series of looking at each Beatle as an individual with the one Beatle who’s had the most prolific career out of any of them: Sir Paul McCartney . Genius songwriter, master musician, and a showman extraordinaire, Paul gets his due this week as we investigate his career from the beginning (“I’ll Follow The Sun “), check out a couple of his iconic songs, investigate his time with the Fireman, and take it all the way to songs off his most recent album, 2013’s New. The Cute Beatle on this week’s Fab Files this Friday September 26 at 10 PM (EDT) on WETS FM/HD1, as well as this Saturday September 27 at 3 PM (EDT) and late Sunday September 28 at midnight (EDT) on WETS HD2. re: the Ringo show

I know this may be a stretch, but while listening to “Weight of the World” during the Ringo show, I thought about Ringo writing and singing this partially about John

Maybe your daddy never held you like he should
Maybe your mama just held on the best she could
Every soul has a secret, give it away or keep it
But yesterday’s gone, so tell me why

You carry the weight, the weight of the world
It’s breakin’ you down, on your back like a boulder
Before it’s too late, get rid of it girl, get it off of your shoulder

Just substitute in the name John in the place of the word girl.

Gahhhh, I’ve been reading that thread about John being haunted by his inner emptiness too much.

Reading that i thought it was about John and misread “get rid of it girl” as “get rid of that girl” and referring to Yoko. Thought Ringo had went all Bad Boy on us.a-hard-days-night-ringo-6 I’ve been reading too many anti-Yoko articles and posts.

Thanks for the reminder. It dovetails nicely with Saturday with the Beatles ending at noon.

Two Popsicles kept the core nuclear reactor temperature down to manageable levels :-)

I didn’t know about Ringo’s percussion on I’ll Follow The Sun . VERY interesting! I also learned about the big leap from 27 to 1. Sorry, I still don’t like Temporary Secretary .

Road is my mom’s favorite song on New. It is fast becoming mine also. Good choice for the show.

Paul and Joe thank you for the sale. I just bought and downloaded the two Fireman albums that I didn’t know about before today. I’m off to walk the dog and listen to them.

As always, thank you for the lessons and entertainment.
