A remarkably tasteless use of Happiness Is A Warm Gun in Bowling For Columbine. I know it was a satirical context which probably doesn’t make sense except outside the US, but still. Could be a nuclear weapon! There’s wackos out there! Warning: there are graphic scenes of firearms use:

Yeah, great ending, with that song kicking in and Zuckerberg just keeps hitting “refresh” over and over.

Just wanted to suggest that one, but as it turns out I already did so last year!

Yeah, it makes the situation a bit ironic or sarcastic. Nah, those are not the words.

A cover of ‘Here Comes The Sun ‘ was sung at the end of The Bee Movie. I was five when I watched it and so the first Beatles song I ever heard was actually a cover.

A brief snip of Love Me Do plays during the Minions movie. I’ve Got To Get You Into My Life plays at the beginning of the credits. The Minions’ “cover” of Revolution happens after the credits have finished.

It is a really funny movie.

The Minions are so cool, the only part of ‘Despicable Me’ (i saw the first film for the first time last weekend, it came out in 2010) that i liked.

Are ‘Love Me Do ‘ and ‘Got To Get You Into My Life ‘ Minion covers @Ahhh Girl, i presume they are?

Since this has been flagged up again (see here) there is a Japanese film called Norwegian Wood . No idea if the Beatles version is in the film (or even a cover) but it is on the trailer. Going by its wiki entry its got nothing to do with the band.

I forgot to reply to this, Norwegian Wood (the song) is used in the credits but the film doesn’t mention the song at all (from what I can remember) in the book the main character associates NW with memories of his relationship with two girls in Tokyo, 1969. T’is a good book, decent film (the cinematography is beautiful).

Which reminds me, I need to read more Murakami!

@meanmistermustard, nope, it is The Beatles singing those two.

I encourage one and all to go to the cinema to see the movie.

Oh Also at the beggining and end of “Dinner for Smucks” they play Fool on the Hill!!

I was going to talk about that movie but I see you’ve already done it @kingjjj8. Beautiful and sad movie.

I suppose of you are going to make a shit load of money (a quick search puts the debut figure at $115.2m at the weekend box office for the Minions film) then paying Apple even $1m (tho i think it will be lower) for the rights to use parts of a couple of Beatles songs is the same as me buying a 5p sweet. Plus it gets two actual Beatles tracks into the biggest film of the summer which cant be ignored. Apple cannot lose.

It must have been a trailer, I couldn’t find it anywhere in the movie. Malkovich has heaps of funny lines but none that I found very Beatley 🙁

I found it. It is Bruce Willis. Listen carefully when he is getting out of the car and right after he steps out of the car when he is going into the funeral.

I never watched Mad Men but I know there was an episode where the main character’s wife tells him to listen to Revolver and he listens to Tomorrow Never Knows .

Did you find the song in the movie, @ewe2?

The trailer for Justice League has a cover of Come Together . I assume the song will be in the movie.

OMG he does sing it when he gets out of the car! Thanks for finding it! He sort of skips most of the yeah yeah yeah’s but it’s unmistakeable. It’s about 4 minutes in.
