I think it was about going to New York in 1938, I never really knew about it before, it only occurred to me when I stumbled upon it on the Internet. Now that's a coincidence, something appearing before you would actually use it.

Yes I was aware of the consequences of doing that, but you have a time machine so you correct your mistakes each time and by doing so you will only realise that what was really meant to happen, was really the original one before you went on time travelling.

Or you can ask them to sign all your LP's, while the unreleased ones are covered with some material so they can't see. You can still do it, whilst Ringo still signs. How amazing it would be if you were part of their inner circle?, They might even write a song about you. You can act like their personal guide warning them about what's going to happen. Wouldn't that be cool?

If I could go back in time just for a day I would go to Hamburg in 1960 to see them and I would bring a video camera (hidden of course, so I wouldn't mess up the past by introducing them to a light, portable, long lasting camera, that stores footage on it before its time) and record their performance IT SHALL BE WORTH MILLIONS MWAHAHAHA!!

Yeah, I can't help getting the feeling that those recordings were already too late to catch them at their most frenzied - like you say, they'd already replaced Pete with Ringo; they had a recording contract with EMI; they'd traded their leather jackets for the suits, etc.

We have the Star Club December '62 recordings to give us some idea what the beatles sounded like in Hamburg, tho Pete would have been on drums and it would probably have been far more raucous. Ive read they would also play a song for 20 minutes repeating the lyrics over and over , adding in 34 guitar solos as well as shouting at the audience to "fuck off" and much worse which would be loved and followed by demands for more. I doubt that was in Backbeat, i havent seen the film.

That was a really interesting choice the creators made to hire a bunch of post-punk and alt-rock semi-stars to provide a soundtrack that really sounds very un-Beatle like.

On the other hand, none of us really know what the Beatles' Hamburg-era sound was like, so I suppose a bit of artistic license is OK.
