I've had the Rutles CD for sometime now. Saw All You Ned Is Cash when it first came out as I was a Beatle and Monty Python fan back then.

The whole thing is wickedly irreverent! I was so glad that John loved it, because they compare Yoko to a nazi!!

I remember watching this as a kid when it came out... blew my mind. Soooo funny! As great a parody as Spinal Tap... but you still feel the love for the Fabs in it.

If you are familiar with the true Beatles' story (which I know most of you are) then you will love the way Idle parodies it quite superbly.

I love "Leggie Mountbatten - a legend in his own lunchtime" and Ron Decline "the most feared promoter in the world".

Alas! The library website lied to me; it was a MMT documentary! It was quite interesting really, but I would've liked to see the actual film. Some clips were shown, and it looks great, albeit bizarre, but excellent!

I'll probably write about the documentary on another thread soon enough, it was quite good.

The Rutles 2 was called Can't Buy Me Lunch. I think Eric Idle made it without the others and it mostly just recycles material from the original but with extra celebrity interviews.

And I got Magical Mystery Tour from the library today! So I think i'll tuck into my pajamas later, grab a bowl of popcorn and settle in for some madness, or so I've heard. Terrible reviews, yes, but I think i'll get a kick out of the little things. Hoorah for a Beatles movie night!

You'll love it. It's funny yet scary accurate at times. It looks like there's a sequel. Has anyone seen it?
