OfflineNo idea if this has been posted here before. Apologies if it has.
Talk of the Anthology Dvds elsewhere was a reminder that you get to hear the rejected ending to A Day In The Life in the directors cut. The original idea was many people going 'ommm' but it was replaced by the famous piano note crescendo. In the video below George Martin talks about it from 5:48 and you then get to hear it from 6:13.

OfflineGood one.
The Anthology DVD is wonderful. My only slight criticism of it when it came out was that there was no mention of the Beatles' "long" hair and its impact. When the Beatles first arrived, that's really all anyone could talk about. And even today, any guy who likes to wear his hair a little on the long side owes a debt to the Beatles.

OfflineThanks very much for posting that.
After becoming so accustomed to the piano fade, I agree with Sir George that the ommm is pathetic by comparison. Had it been the final version, I may have felt differently.
Someone had posted a link to the director's cut a while back but I think it was cut up into brief You Tube segments like the one you found above. Does anyone know where to find that version in longer form? I would love to see it.
To the fountain of perpetual mirth, Let it roll for all its worth.

OfflineA quick google search will bring up some places but i think it would be via download or buying the dvds. As always you would have to be very very careful where you go and its not something i have done. Any site that did/does upload them would hear from Apple lawyers very quickly.
Youtube have taken down a lot of beatles videos including nearly all of the Anthology Directors Cut as well as the Let It Be movie.

I agree. My goal in English is to have a "George Martin" accent.
