So…  amazon.ca totally fucked me on this graphic novel. I pre-ordered it back in September.  I have been waiting for them to charge me and ship it out since it was released, so yesterday I sent an email asking what the hell was going on.  They replied saying that their website was “wrong”…. they don’t actually have it or something…  it was hard to understand.  I canceled my order, and now I am on the (so far unsuccessful) hunt for it.  Boo!  paul-mccartneypaul-mccartneypaul-mccartney

At least I found this…

“Go out and find yourself a brown-eyed, handsome man” so the song goes. FOUND! At least they look brown in this picture.

Two little things:   In the comic there is the Sgt Peppers release party.  It wasn’t the first time Linda and Paul met, but the first time there were pictures of them taken together.  In the comic, Jane is with Paul too….  was she there?  I thought she wasn’t, at least I have never seen her in any of the real pictures….  I know Paul was sneaky, but that would be really bad even for him.  It’s such a little thing I know, but I can’t help but notice those little details when reading it…

Then on the next page they are doing “All You Need Is Love ” and on a frame of Paul’s left hand playing his bass, there is what looks like a wedding ring on his finger…  must be a mistake.

Sorry.  It doesn’t ruin anything it’s still really great, but I just wondered if anyone else noticed any little details like that.

Cannot wait! It will be arriving any minute. I am seriously going to have no life when reading this book. Gonna lock myself in the room and read.

I STILL cannot find that copy of Rolling Stone with Paul in it!!! WAH!!!!!!  LHL:  what store did you find it?  I WANT IT.

My “Fifth Beatle” came yesterday :)   I was surprised that it is a rather large, hard cover book.  It is AWESOME.  I only flipped thru it last night.  The art work is amazing.  Probably going to read it whilst still reading “Tune In”.

Glad you finally got yours too When I’m 64 :)

I thought the book was excellent. Even though it was a comic, it was great. I love  the  quote at the end, “If there was a fifth beatle, it was Brian.” Just something about it. Oh and LHL, I did see when you were talking Paul having the wedding ring on, I could not make it out why. Just to sum it up, it was great and  should be a movie. I would see it.

P.S. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone in the forum.

A feature on CNN reports that ‘The Fifth Beatle’ movie will be “the first feature film about the band allowed to use Beatles music” citing Vivek J. Tiwary (the book author) as the source.

The book is doing well. From The Examiner:

“The Fifth Beatle,” the graphic novel about the life of Beatles manager Brian Epstein, hit #5 on the New York Times hardback graphic books bestseller list Nov. 30, co-author Vivek Tiwary announced today. “Proud and ecstatic that today I became a New York Times bestselling author (#5) for ‘The Fifth Beatle!!’,” Tiwary posted on Facebook.“Feeling very blessed this Thanksgiving weekend.”
