Postage for Recording The Beatles is about $50 worldwide. Given the weight it's unlikely it'd be cheaper if people here set up an exchange - it's the postage that's the real expense. Plus, unless packages are marked as gifts, goods are often given an import levy by customs, which can be pretty high and fairly unpredictable.

Huh, I only paid about $8 (US) for shipping on the Recording The Beatles. You would think that they would set up in the UK and sell the books direct due to the fact that their is a huge Beatles fan base in England

Yeah, I'm not sure how that'd work either. Maybe it's better just to have a thread per book - ie people can join in if they've read it (or talk over each other anyway).

I did set up a fledgling books section on the site, but I have enough else to do without writing loads of book reviews (and I have loads of books!). It was really a place for me to write about review copies I got sent, but in time I'd like to expand it and discuss Anthology, In His Own Write etc.

Both MJB and I are based in the UK. Although I'd gladly pay $100 for a copy of the book (someone I know has one, and it truly is great), the shipping costs overseas are pretty frightening. I think it just about doubles the price.

I'd love to read that but the price tag is a little off-putting. I'd find it quite hard to justify that purchase to Mrs MJB

Trust me , the book is the holy grail of all Beatles Books. It is worth the $100 asking price just for the sheer volume of knowledge that is contained. I enjoy your posts because you ARE very passionate, but like you say yourself, you sometimes forget others aren't quite into the real 'nitty-gritty' of the recordings and you give off the impression they are not worthy!

I look forward to some more discussions about Everett et all, so don't go too far away. I've just finished reading about the recording of Revolver in Everett's second volume. My, that was a lot different to anything before wasn't it? Talk about ADT overload! To be honest I think I need to read over it again whilst listening to the actual tracks.
