“good” as in, contains rape/non-con, and underage smut, yeah. One of the most offensive things i’ve ever read.
plus they skipped out on a john/yoko smut scene, which made me very upset.

honestly the red hall is the most GROTESQUE thing i’ve ever read. you know what i’ve read in my time? invader zim fanfiction. the worst of the worst. The Red Hall has surpassed that.
i feel ashamed to even be associated with anything McLennon related at all because the fanbase of the thing practically revolves around that one fanfiction. (and The Contract, which isn’t that bad besides demonizing all of the women they were involved with)
…But enough about that.
I actually have a suggestion, i used to be the mun of this old john roleplay blog on tumblr, and they have this entire tag of stories.
They aren’t really fanfics though, not in the common sense.

Offline ^ I read the first chapter of Red Hall, but it didn’t appeal to me. There was nothing too strong in that first bit, though, that I remember.

Offline Am I the only one that actually enjoys reading the Red Hall? I don’t know why, but it’s the only McLennon fic that’s not too clichéd for me. For those that are asking to remove it, I see no reason to. It’s got plenty of warnings on, and if you choose to ignore them and continue on and get offended really it’s your fault. Admittedly people might get hurt by the rape/non con stuff but as long as it isn’t used to harass/hurt anyone deliberately the authors have every right to write about it.

Offline If people see the warnings and still go ahead then that’s fine. If they’re offended then it’s their own fault. What I’m more worried about is young people (very young, I mean), who might come across it thinking it’s just a little story and then, well, that. I’m not sure they’d see a warning and get off the site, whereas an older person may have a little more sense if they know they’re of the ”sensitive nature”.
I’ve read other fanfic stuff, not about the Beatles, that is really explicit. Much worse than what I’ve heard about Red Hall. I think there was a thing you had to virtually sign to say you were older than 18, but really, anybody could do that. And that’s what really worries me.

Offline I’ve never actually read any Beatles fics, but I’ve had my fair share of seeing what it can be like. 
I could potentially write one. Something beautiful or horrifying. Any ideas?

Offline I completely forgot that I was supposed to tell you guys when I finished reading “The Contract”. It was worth reading and is permanently inked in my memory. Absolutely adored it.
A few other fics that amazed me were “True Love Ways” (by Das Liebchen Kind who is a wonderful writer – I really enjoyed her other fics as well), a story about George’s trip to Benton before Beatlemania hit America, where he virtually meets Katie and that evolves into romance; and “Into My Life”, a Paul fic, also very romantic.
I’m working on a fic as well, but I don’t think I’ll post it anywhere before I have completed a good part of it, as it’s going to be an epic story, following the Beatles from the beginning of their fame to beyond the end of the band.
@mr.moonlight, I don’t really have any ideas to offer, but do let us know if you do end up writing something!
Oh, and, I am still looking for more to read, so if anyone’s got something to recommend, please do!

I’ve been thinking about a Doctor Who/Beatles crossover, which could be mildly interesting.
There is a connection between Doctor Who and The Beatles. In the 1965 story The Chase the Doctor and his companions are seen watching The Beatles on a monitor in the Tardis. This short clip of them was used.
It shows them on Top of the Pops in April 1965, and is the only remaining footage of them on the show. We only have it because of its use in DW!
