Here's an example using George's birthday:

He was born in 1943, so the first part of his sentence would be: John...   -which corresponds to the "1965 or earlier" choice.

His birthday was February 25, which is in winter, so the second part of his sentence would be: …failed to bake a pie correctly and nearly burnt down the building he was in…   -which corresponds to the "winter (December 21- March 20)" choice.
