I remember – two days after my brother's birthday, I was at this great record shop in Ottawa with my mom and him. And the day earlier, I had seen the MTV Unplugged CD in those "Used Blow-out" bins (you can always find something in those things), and then when he was there I showed him the CD. He flips for it, because (unbeknown to me at the time) this show is like great. So, fast forward a week. I'm struck cleaning up with my mom (boo at cleaning, yay to being with my mom), she played the CD. With this song, I knew it, but I didn't know why. My mom isn't a big Bowie fan, so I haven't a clue why. Just one of those things that music inspires. (Still haven't figured out why I know the song, though. I think I'm still partial to Come As You Are.)
Edit: I'm watching that Californiacation video – so stupid.
