Or you could go the medieval route, and say that you are about an ell and one cubit tall, and hope to grow a third of a span more.

You can have some of my height. I’m about 10 cm taller than you are, and it’s a very inconvenient height. I’m too short to wear certain stuff, and too tall for other stuff. It would’ve worked if I was either a few inches shorter or a few taller.

Offline I am reading the UK magazine “Q,” that I took out of our local library. It is similar to Rolling Stone, only much better. There’s an article about Ringo Starr , and about how charming the Beatles were at their first US press conference. A reporter fired off a typical, hard-hitting journalistic question: “Ringo, how tall are you?” And Ringo cleverly quipped “I’m two feet, nine inches.” And everybody laughed. I’m not quite sure why everybody laughed at that, but it appears like we really, really wanted to love these guys at that particular moment in time. And this totally random thought of mine appears to fit right into a thread titled “Your high height!”
