I used to watch it pretty regularly (5 times a week!) for about half a year, back around mid-decade. (Still a pretty dedicated cartoon fan, even at my ridiculously advanced age!)  But eventually I gave up, because no episode I ever watched was as fall-on-the-floor funny as the very first one I ever saw (in which Spongebob films a way-overbudget commercial for the Krusty Krab.)

My favourite was Squidward!

I used to LOVE Spongebob. I don't really watch the new episodes since I hardly watch tv anymore but when I was a teen it was my favorite show. Can you believe it's been out 13 years?!?

 

I don't think I can pick a favorite episode but I love the one where Sandy wants to move back to Texas and Spongebob and Patrick talk bad about it to keep her there. heartheart

The voice of "Mermaid Man," Ernest Borgnine, just passed away two days ago.

I prefer to remember him as McHale in the TV sitcom "McHale's Navy"

It's not always obvious that some of these voice-overs are done by famous people ( a la Ringo in Thomas the Tank Engine)

I love Spongebob! I don't really watch it much anymore because the new episodes aren't as funny as the old ones. Don't have a favorite episode, but I love the Krusty Krab pizza one, and the one where they were selling chocolate bars, and the ones with Mermaid Man and Barnicle Boy.

I didnt like how they changed his voice, it became more squeaky. The originals were good tho with some really strong episodes, Squidward was my fave.

I used to think that too, but realized I was wrong after watching it with my cousin, and they had a new episode right after the pretty patty one.

I don't like how they changed his voice, either, mmm. The episodes started getting worse when they changed his voice and made his nose longer. Then they had a bunch of episodes where he sang some really terrible songs.

They did songs in some of the old ones, but those were all quality songs; the learning how to tie your shoes song, The Fool Who Ripped His Pants, or The Campfire Song Song. Those are all pretty good songs, The Best Day Ever, however, is garbage.
