Great, great band. Managed to record and release five classic albums in 1969-70 alone, something which even the Beatles never achieved. Probably my 5th or 6th favourite American group ever.

Personally, I think Green River, Cosmo's Factory and Pendulum are their best studio albums and also deserves a spot in the 100 greatest albums of all time. Pendulum however is more dominated by organ than guitar, and a couple saxophone numbers included. Especially notably on the interlude to "Born to Move" (it builds up during Stu's amazing bass solo). Pendulum is like their "Rubber Soul".

They're up there with the Stones and the Kinks, even higher than the Kinks, LOTS of people's favourite songs.

Since I love the Beatles for being so diverse I always thought CCR was sounding way too similar on most of their songs.

Fogerty has an incredible voice and his songs are very hard to sing (damn the man!), at least in the original keys, but it's always more or less the same.

Many great classic songs and melodies, no question.

I especially like Looking out my backdoor and I put a spell on you.

Got to check 'em out, you won't regret it.

"Proud Mary" was their biggest hit.

(P.S. Beatles Bassist, it's "I Heard It Through the Grapevine" not "window" - an understandable lapse for a Beatle fan)

Beatles Bassist, check out this week's Rolling Stone Magazine, page 24:

"John Fogerty ...recording new versions of CCR classics with an all-star cast including Foo Fighters, Bob Seger and My Morning Jacket + .... .The remakes will be released this fall on Fogerty's 18th disc, Wrote a Song for Everyone."

No band has ever had so many hits in such a short period of time - except maybe the Beatles.
