Hi all. First time on the site since Christmas Eve. Beatle-related things I got:

A Help ! tin container with The Beatles' semaphore figures in silhouette, three pairs of Beatles socks and an I Love Ringo chocolate lolly (all from the Beatles Story shop in Liverpool)

A couple of books: You Never Give Me Your Money by Peter Doggett and Starting Over: The Making of Double Fantasy by Ken Sharp. I've not read the first one yet but the Ken Sharp book is fantastic – it's an oral history of the making of the album, done in Anthology style with some great pics I'd never seen before. I really recommend it.

Nowhere Boy on DVD. I've not seen it since the Abbey Road screening, but I've since been to Mendips and it'll be nice to see how authentic it all was. Not had a chance to see it yet.

There's also a copy of the Liddypool book on its way, but Amazon.co.uk has been out of stock for a while.

All the things you got were Beatles-related. Awesome.

If I seem to act unkind, it's only me, it's not my mind that is confusing things.

Just got back from holiday, and there's 50 unread topics and over 250 emails from this place. Jeez.

Anyway, all the Beatle-related stuff I got was:

A book about the stories behind all the songs (which two of my friends also have), “The Words and Inspiration of John Lennon “, which has a lot of his quotes and stuff like that in it, The Beatles issue of The Rolling Stone magazine, Band On The Run , two Beatles tea-towels..uh, I think that's it..

I'd like to be, under the sea, in an octopus's garden, with you.

I know I'm late posting this but I haven't had the internet for a while! paul-mccartney

My Beatles related gifts were:

Beatles For Sale , so my Beatles CD collection is officially finished! And I got Anthology 1 and 2 aswell. 🙂
A black and white canvas of The Beatles on The Ed Sullivan Show, that I LOVE.
Mark Lewisohn's The Complete Beatles Recording Sessions, which I've heard people rave about on this forum, so can't wait to get stuck into that! And another random Beatles biography book aswell.
And my big christmas present was seeing Paul McCartney live in december, which I was obviously ecstatic about! And my sister bought me a t-shirt there too. 🙂

Not a bad christmas! a-hard-days-night-george-8

I think it's great you're going through a phase,

and I'm awfully glad it'll all be over in a couple

of days

That's a long wait. When do your lessons start?

Ad hoc, ad loc, and quid pro quo! So little time! So much to know!

I am trying to learn how to tune this thing. Will have to take some lessons to put me on the right track. It has 20 strings but only 4 which you actually fret. When I'm not fooling around with it, it's great to look at.

Wow that's interesting! Are you taking lessons by yourself or with a teacher?

I'm trying to learn myself but I think I will need a couple of lessons to get on the right track. To bad I can't take lessons from Ravi Shankar. Maybe I can get Anoushka to teach me.

I'm just dreaming!
