OnlineAfter many a year lost have gotten a copy of God Shuffled His Feet by Crash Test Dummies which was a really good album. Cant remember too many of the songs but loved Afternoons and Coffeespoons years ago.
Happy times listening to it again.

OnlineReally enjoyed listening to the whole God Shuffled His Feet album. Normally after 4 or 5 album tracks im bored senseless but this was good*. A nice revisit. Afternoons and Coffeespoons is such a fantastic song, my highlight of the entire album, but The Psychic is lovely with Brad Roberts vocals, backing vocals, piano and the acousitic guitar. The album really rocks.
*There are a handful of artists who dont fit into this but not many.

OfflineI've been listening to The Beach Boys' Pet Sounds lately, and it is officially my new favorite non-Beatles album.
So many parts of it make me smile, but at the same time, many songs make me cry. I'm serious: I have not made it through the whole album without crying. It's absolutely wonderful, and I absolutely recommend it. After all, it is the album that inspired Sgt. Pepper, isn't it? ![]()

OfflineI don't know many songs by the beach boys but I know some from pet sounds and they're great (my favourite song by the beach boys is there cover of santa clause is coming to town. It's on a christmas sampler my parents have got since before I was born. I've listened to it every year in december since I was a baby and this song (in the beach boys version only) has always been my favourite song of the sampler next to wonderful christmas time and happy xmas (war is over). The funny thing is these three songs were my favourite christmas songs before I even knew who the beatles, paul mccartney or john lennon were.

OfflineHuh, interesting. I've heard their Christmas stuff before, and I'll agree that it's really good. I heard of Pet Sounds through the Beatles, but I had no intention of listening to it until I found it in my basement with my Dad's CD collection. My favorite songs are: God Only Knows, Sloop John B, Don't Talk (Put Your Head on My Shoulder), and Wouldn't it be Nice.

OfflineListening again to the medley off "Red Rose Speedway"…and (sorry, Paul Ramon!) I still think it's pretty much crap for the most part. The worst Abbey Road fragment is better than any of these four. Nice production touches and a hummable melody or two, that's it.

OfflineThis is addressed to my fellow Dylanites: if you have yet to listen to Swedish singer-songwriter Tallest Man On Earth, you should totally check him out; his voice and sound reminds me of…well…Bob Dylan! He is one of today's truly gifted artists. ![]()
To add on to today's epic folk rock/pop scene, I've been listening to some major Matthew And The Atlas and King Charles lately. I've also been on a Lumineers kick, especially of their beautiful song "Charlie Boy". One more band to add to the list is Dry The River: their single "Bible Belt" is one of the most haunting songs I have ever heard; it's like a painfully aesthetic siren song. Love it.

And, as we speak, I'm listening to "The Gardener". This is getting insane! Lol.
