He told us not to get overwhelmed by grief and whatever thoughts we have... to keep them happy, because any thoughts we have of him will travel to him wherever he is. (John Lennon - 27/8/67)

That album title... "Hey! Maybe if we design one of those psychedelic-art album covers and give it a title that reminds them of the Beatles, we can market jazz to the hippie audience!"  - Imaginary Columbia Records marketing executive, early-1968ish

I just want to play. I’d like to think I could work opposite Sinatra, B.B. King, the Beatles, or a polka band... - Jazz musician Rahsaan Roland Kirk, 1967

I used to see that album in the cutout bin back in the early '80s, before I knew who any of those three guys were.

What's that sound like, @Necko - more like Cream or more like Robin Trower's old trio? Or neither?

Not a whole lot like Cream outside of the fact that it's obviously Jack Bruce singing and playing bass.

If you haven't seen this, check out the multilingual banter between John and Dick starting at 4:05 but really interesting at 4:45-5:00.

Really nice viola playing tho would prefer it without the drums etc. Someone really should isolate it.

There are a couple good covers of Don't Let Me Down like this, but he is both the youngest and knows his song the best...this kid is obviously being raised right!
