I've always liked John Deacon. A very underrated bass player, wrote some of Queen's best songs and a rock star very happy to avoid the limelight and simply be a father and husband.

Absolutely, @meanmistermustard ! Nobody appreciated John Deacon for what he did, but he is a very talented musician and writer. He really didn't think he did, but he was great! If you think about it- Another One Bites the Dust, You're My Best Friend, I Want to Break Free- they all became big hits! And Another One Bites the Dust and You're My Best Friend are still commonly played on American radio! He also created the Deacy Amp- which really added to the Queen sound. And I admire his decision to leave the band after he realized what had happened to Queen. And also, he's been devoted to his wife Veronica and his children. All around, a fantastic person.

By hook or by crook, I'll be last in this book.

Listening to Venus and Mars for the first time. Got it on vinyl 2 days ago with a few other Wings albums.

Call Me Back Again is on now. I think my favorite so far is Medicine Jar with Jimmy on lead vocals.

If I spoke prose you'd all find out, I don't know what I talk about.

We could take John vocals from Lucille, add George's guitar from when he played it with Deep Purple, get Paul and Ringo to overdub new parts and ta-da a new shiny Beatles reunion. Yeah it would sound crap but four Beatles on a song = instant brilliance.ahdn_paul_01
