Has anybody else ever eaten something they thought they didn’t like, and in actual fact they do? I had some honey for a bad throat today, and I loved it. I used to really hate the stuff. So now I’ve made myself a healthy version of a banana split, with honey and walnuts instead of ice-cream and chocolate :)

Sounds delicious, will need to try that.

A few years back I had venison burgers out of a supermarket once and they were so rotten I avoided venison. More recently was persuaded by the local burger to give them a go again and they were delicious.

Yes. I started eating broccoli and pimento cheese (not together) in college. Broccoli was served at a lot of meals in the dining hall. In lieu of having a meal in the dining hall on Sunday nights, the staff would make sandwiches to go in a bag meal along with chips, fruit, and a cookie. At least 2 Sunday nights a month we had pimento cheese. I liked both as soon as I tried them.

I adore broccoli. I try and put it in everything. Stew? In it goes. Curry? Yep. Soup? And there. Love the stuff. Actually, my dentist said to me ”do you drink lots of tea and coffee, and eat a lot of broccoli?”. I have no idea how he knew that. It was a bit of a strange moment.

Yuck. I don’t really like broccoli, but it’s alright when it’s mixed with other vegetables and spices.

I have it with spinach. I used to avoid it for years, but it’s not bad at all. My parents have been experimenting with food a lot recently and in a lot of their recipes there’s spinach.

I eat a lot of spinach as I have to be careful I don’t become anemic. It’s nice as a salad base with pepper, tomato, red onion and chilli flakes. Lovely with pizza :)

After having the discussion about fried pies, when I started passing signs that indicated I was near the Arbuckle Mountains, I remembered that the original fried pie store was somewhere around here. I found the address and had time to take a little detour.

I bought a few to take home to the family. The pies look just like the pictures I posted earlier. It’s like they just take a pie crust and wrap it around the filling so that you can hold it in your hand. Thanks for starting that conversation, wetsroosa. It turned into a fun little side trip for me today.

About to have a nice omelette for brekky; my wife is home from work and wants to cook for me after buying her dress for our anniversary gift next month as per other post.

You’re welcome. Can you buy me a chocolate fried pie, pretty please? I’ll be your friend forever. a-hard-days-night-george-10

There’s one on the kitchen table. Help yourself. Plenty of milk in the fridge to wash it down.

If Brian were still alive, he’d be welcome too. If you both like chocolate, you’d have to split that one pie or thumb wrestle for it.

Omnomnom spinach, I love vegetables not mad about fruit though… I adore mushrooms and potatoes (stereotype Irish there but I don’t wash it down with Guinness…confession…I don’t drink… :O I am a disgrace to my ancestors) Good news about spinach it is one of the most healthiest foods out there and is #1 against many-cancers hazah for spinach

Wish I loved veggies. I choke down a salad because I have to, but it would make my life so much easier if I could enjoy it.

My friend and I went to Roscoe’s Chicken n Waffles last night. Mmmm… We sat underneath a large framed photo of the president’s visit. It’s always too much for one sitting so I’m enjoying leftovers today.

Ah! My Chinese has just arrived. Crab Meat & Sweetcorn Soup. House Special Foo Yung. House Special Egg Fried Rice. Salt & Pepper Squid. The House Special Egg Fried Rice will be chucked in the fridge when it’s cooled down, along with any of the squid that doesn’t get wolfed tonight. Soup and Foo Yung tonight, and some squid. Egg Fried Rice chucked in the wok tomorrow night to heat up, along with whatever squid is left.

And, of course, there’s free Prawn Crackers!

Don’t post things like that. I’m trying to eat better and folks mentioning Chinese Takeaway will only make it harder.

I’m not jealous at all. I’m not.
