I've stuck with Elvis from the beginning, and what he may be lacking in "classic" albums of late, he certainly makes up for in his live performances. If you get a chance to see him during the "Spectacular Spinning Wheel" tour, I highly recommend it. He's been throwing in a Beatles cover here and there ("Girl" pops up a lot in this tour), which always ups the "like" factor.

And Wilco, yeah, I can't say enough. My favorite band in the "still existing" category. "The Whole Love" was my favorite studio album from last year, and you must, must see them live. ...

Elvis Costello is amazing. I would probally put him in atleast my top ten! Probably because my dad loves Elvis Costello and I grew up with that music. Literally he likes Elvis Costello more than I like the Beatles. And that is seriously saying somthing.

BluemeanAl, Wilco is great! I've just started listening to them and my dad and I love it.

ITSWD: I finally listened to Tiny Tim, I can't believe a man can sing that high! Tiptoe Through the Tulips was cool, but I was thoroughly creeped out by his version of Girl, as you predicted.

Elvis Costello... I love his show, Spectacle.

Hey, everyone, my first "real" post. I'm not feeling under any pressure to be a Beatles "expert" with this topic, since it's clearly an opinion poll only. But, narrowing down to five...a little pressure there. Ok, leaving the Beatles off the list, my favorite all-time (at least this week), and in no particular order:

Oh. I heard the song in Shrek and then googled it which brought up Rufus Wainwright. Who would have thought that the internet would bring me the half-wrong answer.

Tho listening to the John Cale cover doesnt sound familiar.

Its kind of like the song Walking In The Air is eternally associated with Aled Jones but he didnt sing it in The Snowman, which most people believe to be the case.

Wainwright's version wasn't actually featured on Shrek, that was John Cale's version. For some bizzare reason, Wainwright's version appears on the soundtrack CD.

2. Random 80's one hit wonders. Yes, i know its No a band but honestly, like 90% of my favorite songs are 80s one hit wonders.
3. Tom Lehrer (60s satire music. He's really funny! I highly suggest looking him up, especially if your big on history (or math, or science, or anything educational. Tom Lehrer makes learning funny!)
4. Yelle (a French pop group)
5. Lady Gaga

*EDIT* OMG HOW COULD I FORGET BUDDY HOLLY!?!?! Kick everything except the Beatles and one hit wondersdown a knotch and put Buddy at number 3!
